Well I didn't know about this, but I wasn't so impressed with Bobby and his work with Rob Halford maybe just on "Crucible", but if Richard said THAT, then we shall see what Bobby is about to do on next Iced Earth record. By his style I think that he suites well to Iced Earth but I still like Richard more. That's just my opinion.
You, my friend, obviously haven't heard (like many others, as it seems) anything by Riot or Spastic Ink, Bobby's other bands. Riot plays kinda hard'n' heavy music, but Bobby just slays the drums there! Spastic Ink is a whole other story, over the top progressive music, filled with insane rhythms and time signatures, his brother Ron (founder of Watchtower) plays there as well. Not to mention his drum video, awesome!
Jarzombek is certainly a very well fitting replacement and his greatness as a drummer shows by his parts with Halford. He played just what was needed for that style and songs, didn't overplay at all. A great musician understands the demands of a song...
I've listened to new Demons And Wizards in its entirety and Bobby followed every single fucking pickstroke of Jon's! His double bass is out of this world and he's IMO among the best if not THE best metal drummer.
