One of the most astonishing bands I know, Apocalyptica, plays heavy-metal with cellos!! Their first step was to give a kind of "proof of concept" with Metallica covers but their latest album Cult is filled with their own compositions

Hearing the amazing sound of the cellos on the CDs is one thing, but seeing the four finnish metalheads headbanging like madmen while playing Master Of Puppets on cellos is something different and even better. Besides videos of some of their songs, the main part of the DVD is one concert recorded in Munchen. They alternate their own compositions (Path, Romance, ...) with some Metallica's classic (Nothing Else Matters, Enter Sandman, ...) and even some Sepultura like the incredibly fast Refuse/Resist. An incredible show, and if you thought that the cello is boring, you'll quickly change your mind about this wonderful instrument.

I can't recommend enough this DVD, even if you don't know Apocalyptica yet, you can buy it with your eyes closed. 2 hours of pure joy.

Technical specs: Multizone PAL DVD, Dolby Digital 5.1
