Agreed :D

That being said. Here's my list of tracks from both the albums that would make a solid release. IMHO of course

1) Fuel
2) Until It Sleeps
3) Mama Said(Yes i like that one)
4) Prince Charming
5) Low Man's Lyric
6) Bleeding Me
7) Where The Wild Things Are
8) Thorn Within
9) Prince Charming
10) Fixxxer

You know you listed Prince Charming twice. :D Anyway, I definitely agree with your list except that I would also add in The Outlaw Torn and replaced Low Man's Lyric with something like King Nothing or House That Jack Built (one of Met's most underrated songs IMO).

I'd add Until It Sleeps and Hero of the Day which were two very fine modern hard rock singles !

Well for me I suppose somewhere in between, although this is still the only metallica album I've never actually owned at some point. But... there's a few really great songs on it, which for me is enough for a hit even if it comes with a lot of filler. Because thinking about it, a lot of albums I would unquestioningly give a hit to don't contain anything as good as Until It Sleeps...

Miss! It's not that it's Hard Rock, I happen to like Hard Rock. The problem is it's shitty Hard Rock. This is a band that is,quite frankly, coasting on past success. And after seeing "Some Kind of Monster" in all of it's horror, these guys are frauds. they don't have a passion for the music, and I doubt that they ever did. They called in the counselor to help keep the entitty that is Metallica going! WTF! They admitted it's all about the money. You can tell very plainly that James does not like Lars whatsoever! they even show the songs that didn't make the cut to "St. Anger" and those were some of the worst things I've ever heard in my life! If it wasn't for Bob Rock, this band would be completely lost. Ever since "Black" it's reeked of commercialism and lacks any soul whatsover. Aside from "Bleeding Me", "The Outlaw Torn", and "Fixxer" from ReLoad, which are excellent IMHO, everything else is just filler garbage. Even "Mama Said" is a feeble and laughable attempt at country music. Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash would jab their ears out with a pencil if they heard that tripe. If you like stuff in this vein, by all means, support Corrosion of Conformity and Brand New Sin, and BLS, they do this and do it way better.

Could'nt agree with you more, except I hold Bob Rock partially responsible for these sad albums as well.

I dunno, I often wonder how things would have turned out if they'd worked with Chris Tsangrides after ...And Justic For All.

By the way, I actually have the original demos for King Nothing, Fixxxer and Hero Of The Day (recorded in November/December, 1994). I actually kind of prefer the solos in the King Nothing/Hero demos over the solos in the final songs (particularly the bluesy solo in the KN demo). If anybody wants them, feel free to send me a PM.

Hmh, just remember that Tsangarides fucked Helloween's Pink Bubbles Go Ape production completely in 1991. So Painkiller just seems be in everyone's mind as a succesful job from him. Wasn't Chris also responsible for Malmsteen's 1990 Eclipse -albums muddy sound?

maybe so but he was also responsible for Angra's Fireworks which sounded very good (not to mention his classic 80's production, this guy has quite a lot to put up an impressive resumé) 8)

Tsangrides is spotty at best. When he's on he's one of the best. When he's off it sounds like he has cotton in his ears, and is two rooms away. He produced Black Sabbath's "Eternal Idol" and the demos have more crunch to them. Weak.
