She is a very, very good singer, if in a style I can't stand. Though she made a huge mistake in alienating the rest of Nightwish. If money is what she's interested in, she's going to find that making it as an opera singer is ten thousand times harder than it was in Nightwish. In the opera world (which is where she seems to want to be), she's a good singer, but nothing special compared to the other ladies who can really hit the high notes. Not to mention, she's going to be the low woman on the totem pole for years if she goes anywhere outside the metal world.
Nice job of shooting oneself in the foot.
My thoughts exactly. If it's money that she's after, it was a terrible move, because Nightwish was a perfect money machine. But then again... she must have known that, right? She must have known that with Nightwish she could have made millions, and that it will be much harder in the opera world. I think it would have been impossible for her to not have known that. So I'd rather think that maybe Tuomas is exagerating, and perhaps it's not money that she wants, but to accomplish herself as an opera singer. And even if that, as Carnifex said, will be a lot more difficult than to gain popularity in metal, it's her right to try it, if that's what she trully wants.
And I can understand Tuomas' anger and frustration with the fact that her heart wasn't in the band, but I still hold my opinion that he shouldn't have written an open letter with all those details, unless it would be in response to other public statements.
To those who say she can't sing: hahaha
To those (males) who say they wouldn't hit her: hahahahahahahaha
If Tarja or a similar looking woman would come to pretty much any man looking for sex, he'd take his clothes off in less than 5 seconds. Save this bravado talk for your girlfriends, they're probably the only ones gullible enough to belive it.
