You guys know how it goes. Winner takes all, and we move to the next match, as follows:

Zadster Vs. Carnifex!!!

The final of the first four matches! Please vote for once with your heart, and not with your brainish stupidity. This is for real....

I predict some amazing shit!, Sumbitch!!!! Go for it you S-O-B's, this ain't the game you think it is. Advancing is hard, and being on top willl be a burden. Good luck, and lyric well.

Here goes. Wrote this a while back when I was in one of my happy moods.

Quote:
What philosophy do you see in a corpse?
It lies stinking in the ground, devoid of existence.
The worms burrow deep inside it and lay their eggs.
Used whilst it breathed, nothing changes now life has been choked out.
No peace, even in the void, for there is no voice,
No light at the end of the tunnel, no welcome
From loved ones who now lie rotting - are they loved still?
You kissed a human cheek - could you caress a corpse?
The emptiness of life is but a taste of death.
Afraid of fading, Man turns to religion for hope;
Is given false promises by tricksters and fools,
Yet not even their god can save you from the grave.
What use loving? What use hatred? Nothing is immortal.
Why give seed, remake life just to watch it fail?
Why give your soul, only to be taken away?
Better to keep what was given to yourself and die whole.
As for those that turn against you, why bear a grudge?
In the emptiness their punishment awaits them.
Harsh words these are indeed from one that hoped for redemption!
Once, but no more, now I vomit these words of pain
Across the page and watch as the bile sinks in,
Mingling with the blood spilt as I slash my wrists in gladness,
I laugh as my veins are opened, I spray with glee.
No drug is as good as this, no 'high' such pleasure,
The pure snow-white innocence has become scarlet with sin.
My last act: ejaculating this ruddy stream.
By redecorating this universe of ours
I dim the sun, with my power I snuff out the stars.

Not doing an additional piece. Had a rhyming one prepared, but I realised it was shite so left it out. Good luck, C.

Well, here goes. Here's the more traditional song:
Quote:
Strict Nine Seven Gates

Strict nine guards
At the edge of the big bang
On the tongue deep inside the human mind
The smell of chemical chain-link fences
And polyurethane wings
To guard against phantom scythes

(chorus)
Orgasming blood
Sweet copper on the back of the tongue
Blunt emotions into letter openers
Dark sundered envelopes
Black ink on eyelashes

Seven keys to gates that taste like oil
In the essential cortexes
The jewel is there
Treasured in lacqured boxes
Hidden with nonessential items
In plain sight

(chorus)

Truth is buried in three layers
Deception is the only thing
That never tells a lie
Murkey waters reflect the surface
The sky and moon know you
God strips the Devil’s likeness

(chorus)

Ten into one
One into ten
Into infinite
Into endless

And here's a poem I wrote a couple years ago, which I still like very much:
Quote:
Cycle

Medieval monks bled
to touch the face of God.
They hoped to break
the chains of corpuscles binding them to earth,
tear away the cloth of mortality
muffling their songs to angels.

Wet, warm, thickly stinking,
it hurts to bleed.
They isolated us,
sanctuary to sing to angels.
Nephilim must drink up screams
as Seraphim sup on moaning.

Flow like magma in the depths of sleep,
caves of flesh empty of shit,
bodies run dry of life
like desert washes.
It’s only a little thing, really,
with so much trapping.

I vote for The Zad (no relation to The Noid).

I like his poetry better, it flows and I can understand it. Not that I can't understand Carnifex's, but... jeesh, orgasming blood is pretty grotesque. Wait, what the hell am I saying?

Yeah. I don't like Carnifex's as much because they remind me of me.

So Zad it is.

my vote goes to Carnifex.

her material is much more fitting in the song format imo and that's what makes the difference since Z's lyrics are pretty good too...

so, it's a tie 2-2

well... so far

A vote here for Carnifex's first piece, it's clever.

Zadster.

I love it... makes me think about my own view of life and death. Not change it, but think about it none the less.

Carnifex. Pretty impressive, but I was expecting that. IMO, Strict Nine Seven Gates is the best work in this competition so far. Its ending kills. Those lyrics are something Dark Tranquillity would do, they somehow remind me of Hedon, was that an inspiration, Carnifex?

Depends on the genre of the song, doesn't it?

Keep voting, people, I'm falling behind.

Thank you. The ending is Kabbalistic, it refers to God's emanation of the universe via the ten sefirot; in Kabbalistic traditions, "God" is usually referred to as "Ein Sof," which means "infinite" or "endless."

Interesting.
When I said "those lyrics are something DT would do" I was actually reffering to the whole poem, not to the ending, and especially to the first verse.

Ah. I do listen to a lot of DT, but I've had this general writing style for years. It's what happens when someone who wrote bad goth poetry in junior high grows up and gets a clue or three.
