Here goes. Wrote this a while back when I was in one of my happy moods.
Quote:
What philosophy do you see in a corpse?
It lies stinking in the ground, devoid of existence.
The worms burrow deep inside it and lay their eggs.
Used whilst it breathed, nothing changes now life has been choked out.
No peace, even in the void, for there is no voice,
No light at the end of the tunnel, no welcome
From loved ones who now lie rotting - are they loved still?
You kissed a human cheek - could you caress a corpse?
The emptiness of life is but a taste of death.
Afraid of fading, Man turns to religion for hope;
Is given false promises by tricksters and fools,
Yet not even their god can save you from the grave.
What use loving? What use hatred? Nothing is immortal.
Why give seed, remake life just to watch it fail?
Why give your soul, only to be taken away?
Better to keep what was given to yourself and die whole.
As for those that turn against you, why bear a grudge?
In the emptiness their punishment awaits them.
Harsh words these are indeed from one that hoped for redemption!
Once, but no more, now I vomit these words of pain
Across the page and watch as the bile sinks in,
Mingling with the blood spilt as I slash my wrists in gladness,
I laugh as my veins are opened, I spray with glee.
No drug is as good as this, no 'high' such pleasure,
The pure snow-white innocence has become scarlet with sin.
My last act: ejaculating this ruddy stream.
By redecorating this universe of ours
I dim the sun, with my power I snuff out the stars.
Not doing an additional piece. Had a rhyming one prepared, but I realised it was shite so left it out. Good luck, C.
