The kurds themselves have also suffered attempted genocide at the hands of the Iraqis under Saddam as well though... This cycle of abuse will go round in circles forever, and the kurds and iraqis are just two more links in this chain.
The point is that this all goes round in circles. And when london was bombed recently, the first thing we had to do collectively in Britain, was not to allow the actions of terrorists to lead to prejudice against normal Muslims, who are in fact of great benefit to this country economically AND culturally. Sadly, this has not happened in many cases, and there are reports on the news on increased physical attacks on innocent muslims (or people who just look like they could be).
As for the numbers of kurds in prison n Turkey, I know little of this matter. However I suspect we may be able to draw a parrallel between here and the USA. (Just an example, Europe is guilty of this too! this is by no means an attempt to start another Europe v USA flamewar!!!)
In America there is a disproportionately large amount of black people and hispanics in prison compared to whites, but I don't believe this is because those races are naturally more inclined to commit crimes at all, although this is what some "nationalists" would have you believe. This is because such a high proportion of ethnic minorities still live in very working class or poverty stricken areas, as a result of their society still being weighed too heavily in favour of people who are born into white, middle class families.
My point is, when there is a disproportionately large number of people from one race in prison in a country, it is often more as a result of that societies prejudices, than said race being intrinsically more violent.
