Are you cunts referring to me? Pffft!

I enjoy this album, but it's not great.

That was fun.

Good lord. I had nothing to fucking do in 2006, huh? Just reading that thread gave me a headache. I quit reading after page 4. Bunch of tedious cunts, we were/are.

I can't believe I was posting on this site, with the same assholes, 6 years ago. I was 15, for fuck's sake.

Yep, been here 11 years, since the Chris and Danny era.

Funny I was actually thinking about that yesterday, how long it had been :). I feel my brother is itching to get back to reviewing as well but I'm not sure his crazy schedule will allow him to... we will see. I've been on and off for years now, though I'm trying to be back and be regular... hope I can keep it up. Losing my job at the end of last year was probably what helped me invest more time into the site as of late. Hopefully job or no job (still nothing on the horizon just yet), I can keep writing.

For now I backlog review so it's mostly good stuff...

Thanks for sticking with us for so long ;)

Chris

I saw a promo of this band on TBS for thier appearance on Conan and I wondered myself which major label still thought nu-metal was making any cash. So I see where the nay-sayers are coming from. It's sad to see Motorhead too for all the wrong reasons on US TV.

Don't be a tool, this is a massive turd and nothing remotely metal about it. But then again I'd be surprised if you guys don't start doing reviews for Cee Lo Green.

Sorry, Evanescence are more than enough of a metal band to be reviewed here. And if Cee Lo Green goes metal, then we shall (probably) review him.

Metal bands dont get played on pop commercial radio stations, unless they are metal pretenders, such as Evanescence, Linkin Park and Paramore...I really didn't expect this review to be here, but not that surprised either...

That is such an ignorant statement. Where something is played has nothing to do with what kind of music it is.

Well, you got me to check that metalforge website for a second, and I saw that the reissue of Nirvana's Nevermind received 9.5 stars, higher than Estoeric's Paragon of Dissonance...

But Nirvana got played on pop commercial radio stations, so why is that reviewed over there?!

Funny what happens when we can pick and choose from websites.

I've actually heard some people, fans and radio DJ's use the words Paramore and metal in the one sentence...

Open-minded? What does this have to do with open-mindedness?

These reviews serve a useful purpose as a honey trap. They might draw in somebody googling for an evanescence review, and they might discover real metal.

Hey, I said I wasn't surprised to see a review of evanescence, but also didnt expect it. As far as what gets reviewed on TMF, is not up to me...i also saw that they reviewed the new Foo Fighters album. I understand why bands like Nirvana, Foo Fighter and Evanescence gets reviewed on a primarily metal website, you can't just restrict yourself to a single musical style, its about getting as much traffic into the website as possible.

However, this isn't what I was talking about, i was talking about commercial pop radio stations staying away from playing metal or hard rock for that matter cos its not what their "target audience" likes. So when they play "Numb" by Linkin Park, that's as heavy as they go so all the teeny bopers who think Linkin Park is the shit (little do they know whats really out there if they bothered to research it), can be slightly happier.

Evanescence is not Metal but their music appeals to rock/hard rock/metal fans so it makes sense for it to be reviewed here.
Same goes for Alice in Chains and AC/DC, they are not metal but they easily crossover to metal fans.
