Today's headlines: Metal Reviews experiences popular outcry as metal is reviewed.
Don't be a tool, this is a massive turd and nothing remotely metal about it. But then again I'd be surprised if you guys don't start doing reviews for Cee Lo Green.
Sorry, Evanescence are more than enough of a metal band to be reviewed here. And if Cee Lo Green goes metal, then we shall (probably) review him.
Metal bands dont get played on pop commercial radio stations, unless they are metal pretenders, such as Evanescence, Linkin Park and Paramore...I really didn't expect this review to be here, but not that surprised either...
Well, you got me to check that metalforge website for a second, and I saw that the reissue of Nirvana's Nevermind received 9.5 stars, higher than Estoeric's Paragon of Dissonance...
But
Nirvana got played on pop commercial radio stations, so why is that reviewed over there?!
Funny what happens when we can pick and choose from websites.
Hey, I said I wasn't surprised to see a review of evanescence, but also didnt expect it. As far as what gets reviewed on TMF, is not up to me...i also saw that they reviewed the new Foo Fighters album. I understand why bands like Nirvana, Foo Fighter and Evanescence gets reviewed on a primarily metal website, you can't just restrict yourself to a single musical style, its about getting as much traffic into the website as possible.
However, this isn't what I was talking about, i was talking about commercial pop radio stations staying away from playing metal or hard rock for that matter cos its not what their "target audience" likes. So when they play "Numb" by Linkin Park, that's as heavy as they go so all the teeny bopers who think Linkin Park is the shit (little do they know whats really out there if they bothered to research it), can be slightly happier.
