Aight, I'm going to be one of those annoying bastard children right now and ask for recommendations! I've been pretty bad with keeping up with music this year, and since most of you are pretty and have good taste, I thought this would be the place to go. So far I've heard:
Heaven and Hell- The Devil You Know
Kreator- Hordes of Chaos
Artillery- When Death Comes
Slough Feg- Ape Uprising
And I'm planning to check out:
Saxon- Into the Labyrinth
Stratovarius- Polaris
Dream Theater- Black Clouds and Silver Lining
So, anything else that's really good from the traditional/power/thrash genres? The new Voivod doesn't sound like my cup of tea, from reading the review, and I haven't really enjoyed Voivod since the early days. Is Destroyer 666's new one thrashy enough that I might enjoy it, or does it veer heavily towards death and black? As for the new Dark Moor, I've always found them a bit overdramatic and too cheesy even for power metal, but Marty in his review compares the new album to The Black Halo, one of my favourites; do you folks think I'd enjoy it if I only liked a few songs off The Gates of Oblivion?
And yep, any other reccs would be appreciated. Peace out, yeh.
