Great interview, though. I've been saying for years that JOP is Savatage and it's lame that TSO does so well and Savatage does not. So it's cool hearing it come from Jon, too, you know? The industry is lame. I see TSO every year they come around and I'm amazed at how many old people are there, how many housewives and business-types are there, and they all LOVE, they ROCK OUT, to "Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24)!" Every time the place goes nuts for that song! And it's baffling because not a single one of those people would ever go see Savatage, and that's a Savatage song. It's ridiculous.
The very definition of "paradox", wouldn't you say? I get a kick out of it....seeing some long-haired metal dude in a Poets and Madmen t-shirt standing in line next to some old geezer in a tuxedo is priceless.

I wish I could go see em. TSO that is. Last year I though a concert was coming on TV and I was gonna tape it, but it was some cheesy lame ass x-mas thing with an old man and a kid crying or something, seriosuly what the fuck???? it had TSO music in it, but what the hell was it? It was so gay.
That video was geared more toward the mainstream to attract more fans. The concerts are much more rocked out with no staged interludes like with Ossie Davis and the runaway girl. And you certainly won't find Jewel or Michael Crawford doing any solo songs either. Seeing TSO is quite the concert experience.
