But lets be serious here... comparing thrash and black metal is like apples and oranges...
Don;t get me wrong, Thrash is cool (Destruction, Sodom, Kreator etc,) but it is a device of humans, and so confined to human spheres... Black Metal is a tapping of the occult forces that are hidden (mostly) from men; whether anthems of power for dark kings (Judas Iscariot-Heaven in Flames, Emperor-In The Nightside Eclipse, Satyricon-DMT, Shadowthrone) or a transcendence from the material world of the mundane (Xasthur, Leviathan, Nachtmystium, Black Funeral) or straight up misanthropic onslaught (Darkthrone, Mutiilation, Vlad Tepes, Maniac Butcher, Tsjuder, Dark Funeral, Mayhem) or the aural equivalent of disembodied souls unleashed to haunt the gloomy night (Gehenna) or folk inspired, pagan, NSBM (Nokturnal Mortum, Graveland, Drudkh)... not to mention Ulver, who are some of all of those mentioned above.
As you can see Black Metal is not only diverse, but transcends the realm of mere mortals.
While caught in a Black Metal trance, it is like an astral experience, a taste of immortality, a glimpse into a world between worlds.
Those of you that are into this genre will know exactly of what I speak.

Not to me ... you obviosly fail to grasp what this art is about, so why bother? Stick to your transparent all-on-the surface mundane, metallum generica, if you will, but do not criticize that which you do not understand, which becomes ever more apparent with each of your comments.

Hails once more!
