I have very mixed feelings of the Ozzman. Here it goes:
Blizzard Of Ozz - I can see where this album became really popular, but I actually find it to be quite overrated. I guess if I was a fan back in 1980 (errr, I wasn't even BORN until about two years later), I would absolutely love this album. But here in 2006, it's actually pretty tame for a "shock rock" album.
Diary Of A Madman - Definite Classic. Believer is one of my absolute favorite Ozzy songs.
Bark At The Moon - Haven't really listened to.
The Ultimate Sin - Has its moments. Never, Shot In The Dark, Killer of Giants and Lightning Strikes are great songs. The first two being among my favorite Ozzy songs. Secret Loser and the title track (despite Ozzy singing in a surprisingly relaxed tone) are good too. The rest is kind of "Ehhh, not bad but nothing really spectacular."
No Rest For The Wicked - One of my two favorite Ozzy albums! Crazy Babies, Miracle Man, Devil's Daughter, Fire In The Sky. All great songs!
No More Tears - My other favorite Ozzy album. EVERY song on here (with the possible exception of Hellraiser) is classic. You MUST buy this.
Ozzmosis - Haven't seriously listened to yet.
Down To Earth - Booooooooooring. Ozzy sounds tired and like he's trying too hard to pretend he's still in his 30s. The songs sound very forced and almost whiney (*cough* Gets Me Through *cough*). Oh well, at least Zakk Wylde can still play guitar.
So overall, I do like Ozzy. But some Ozzy records are better than others, so don't base your judgement on just one album.
I've never really sat through an album, but I grew up with family members listening to him and his voice always seemed to bother me and its just music I don't overall really care for.
