CHINCHILLA just finished recordings for their fourth album, Madtropolis“ in the House Of Music Studios, Germany. Produced by the band and
Achim Köhler, CHINCHILLA managed to record eleven songs of pure joy that range from melodic ballads to pure and powerful HEAVY Metal!

Swedish Awards Show "Manifest" Announces Nominees

The new Swedish music award show “Manifest” have revealed the nominees for 2002.
In the hard rock/punk category, VOMITORY are nominated with their “Blood Rapture” album. Other nominees in this category are In Flames - “Reroute To Remain”, Thåström - “Mannen som blev en gris”, Spiritual Beggars - "On Fire" and Totalt Jävla Mörker - “Det ofrivilliga lidandets maskineri”. The award show, which will be hosted by Miss Universe, will take place at Kulturhuset in Stockholm, Sweden on the 31st of January. website(Swedish only) In other related news: On April 19th, VOMITORY will play at the Motala Metal Festival in Motala/Sweden. Edguy Finishing Up Work On Live Album

German melodic metallers EDGUY are putting the finishing touches on their live album, tentatively due in April through AFM Records. According to vocalist Tobias Sammet, "The live album is gonna consist of 2 discs, with a running time of over 100 minutes and a 40-page photo booklet documenting the 'Mandrake' tour, featuring 150 pictures of the band onstage, backstage, sightseeing, drinking, soundcheck[ing], travelling, etc. Fans can follow us everywhere in this booklet. I really hope that people will appreciate that!"

Type O' Negative upcoming The Dream Is Dead

Type O' Negative have finalized most of the song titles for their upcoming album The Dream Is Dead, due in April through Roadrunner Records. A Dish Better Served Cold (formerly "Truth Decay") In addition, two demo songs I Need Love and Why Won't You Love
Me will be included, but are yet to be given "official" titles.
A 13th, as-yet-untitled cut will also be added to the final sequence. As was
the case with the group's previous efforts, The Dream Is Dead was recorded
at Brooklyn, New York's Systems 2 studios and was produced by keyboardist Josh
Silver.

Stefanie would like to concentrate more on her private life which got more and more complicated to time with the band’s tight release- and tour schedule. EMI to re-issue Queensryche catalog

More than 20 years on from the release of QUEENSRYCHE's self-titled debut EP, EMI is reissuing the disc and the six albums that followed: The Warning, Rage For Order, Operation: Mindcrime, Empire, Promised Land and Hear In The Now Frontier.
Each of the releases has been repackaged with bonus tracks, unreleased photos, memorabilia and liner notes by lead vocalist Geoff Tate and Paul Suter (who wrote the first demo review in Kerrang!, which eventually was responsible for getting the band signed). Despite JUDAS PRIEST drummer Scott Travis' statement to the contrary, JUDAS PRIEST Management Co-Ordinator Jayne Andrews has once again dismissed as "incorrect" the rumors of a possible reunion with former singer Rob Halford.
