Obituary to release Frozen In Time July 19

Contrary to a previous announcement indicating that the album would be a self-titled affair, Roadrunner Records U.K. has revealed that the new Obituary CD will now carry the title Frozen In Time. The complete track listing for the album is as follows: 01. Redneck Stomp Frozen In Time is tentatively scheduled for release on July 19 (one day earlier internationally). The group's first collection of new songs since 1997's Back from the Dead was self-produced by the band, with Mark Prator and Scott Burns engineering, and was mastered by Tom Morris at Morrisound.

TESTAMENT: More Information Revealed About Upcoming Benefit Concert

TESTAMENT and friends will be playing a benefit
concert on July 9, 2005 at The Pound in San Francisco. Proceeds from
the show — the band's first in the San Francisco area in over two years
— will aid in the financial recovery for families dealing with
life-altering medical diagnosis. Among the families that will benefit
from the concert are Keith and Brandy Regan, who had a son (Cole Regan)
who was born with cancer (leukemia / AML) and survived up until three
months short of his second birthday before passing away on July 28,
2004. Although insurance covered the bulk of the costs, it did not

ZYKLON Hard At Work On New Material

ZYKLON, the Norwegian band featuring former EMPEROR members Samoth (guitar) and Trym (drums), are continuing work on the songs for their third album, "Disintegrate", and will record "as soon as the band feels that the material is ready and perfect," according to the group's label, Candlelight Records. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Disintegrate", "Vile Ritual", "In Hindsight", "Subversive Faith", "Vulture" and "Wrenched".

MAX CAVALERA: 'I Don't Feel Like Doing A SEPULTURA Reunion'

In a recent interview with "Metal Injection", SOULFLY mainman Max Cavalera was asked questions submitted by fans. The most asked question was: Do you ever see yourself reuniting with SEPULTURA?
"To tell you the truth, I like the fact that everything that was done with SEPULTURA through 'Roots', it was all a challenge and we really accomplished something that can easily be destroyed by these reunion tours," he responded. It's Official: OPETH Sign With ROADRUNNER RECORDS

As BLABBERMOUTH.NET first reported on April 18, OPETH mainman Mikael Åkerfeldt has now officially confirmed to MTV.com that the band have finalized a deal with New York's Roadrunner Records, bolstering an imposing roster that already includes KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, SLIPKNOT, OBITUARY and CRADLE OF FILTH.

Guitarist DANIEL MONGRAIN Quits CRYPTOPSY

Guitarist Daniel Mongrain has officially left CRYPTOPSY due to "professional" reasons and to focus full-time on MARTYR, according to a posting on MARTYR's web site.
Mongrain originally joined CRYPTOPSY in late 2004 following the departure of Jon Levasseur. MARTYR are currently in pre-production for their third album, which they expect to record this summer. The follow-up to 2000's "Warp Zone" will be issued through Galy Records before the end of the year.

GAMMA RAY Complete Work On 'Majestic'

German power metallers GAMMA RAY have completed work on their new album, "Majestic", at Hansen Studios in Hamburg, Germany. Mastering duties were handled at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, Finnland by Mikko Karmila and Kai Hansen. The follow-up to 2001's "No World Order"
includes 11 tracks which represent "all of the characteristic strengths
of the band's musical career to date," the group write on their web
site. A late September release is expected.
