DARKANE Guitarist: 'We Didn't Want Anyone Telling Us What To Do'

ANAL CUNT Frontman Continues Recovery Following Seizure

ANAL CUNT frontman Seth Putnam has posted the following message on his web site:

"Sorry it's been so long since my last update. I switched to a new hospital [after suffering a seizure late last year] that didn't have a computer. Then on my 37th birthday (May 15) it was the last day for me at that hospital, and I got involved wtih a state-run program. I'm basically living in a foster home for cripples now. RAMMSTEIN To Release New Album In September

According to a posting on RAMMSTEIN's official web site, the band recorded several songs during the sessions for their latest album, "Reise, Reise", which were omitted from the CD's final track listing. During a recent session at a Berlin studio, RAMMSTEIN recorded several more tracks and are currently mixing the combined collection of new material for a full-length album, to be released in September. No further information is currently available.

Recorded primarily in Spain (El Cortijo Studio, Malaga), "Reise Reise" (translated as "Voyage, Voyage" or "Journey, Journey") is the follow-up to "Mutter", which entered The Billboard 200 chart at No. 77 back in April 2001.

"Reise Reise" sold 26,716 copies in the United States in its first week of release in mid-November to debut at position No. 61 on The Billboard 200 chart.

PLACE VENDOME: Former HELLOWEEN Singer Teams Up With PINK CREAM 69 Members

Frontiers Records has set an October 10 European release date for the debut album from PLACE VENDOME, a brand-new project featuring former HELLOWEEN singer Michael Kiske along with PINK CREAM 69 members Dennis Ward, Uwe Reitenauer, and Kosta Zafiriou, plus VANDEN PLAS ivory tinkler Gunther Werno.

PLACE VENDOME (named after the world-renowned square in Paris) is said to feature a straight melodic rock/AOR sound, "comparable to bands like FOREIGNER or JOURNEY," according to Kiske. Production duties were handled by Ward, who wrote the material with his bandmates David Readman

Swedish/German metallers ARCH ENEMY have posted the cover artwork for their upcoming CD, "Doomsday Machine", at their official web site. Check it out at this location.

NEURAXIS: Recordings For 'Trilateral Progression' Complete

Montreal-based metallers NEURAXIS have finished recording their fourth album, "Trilateral Progression", with Yannick St Amand (DESPISED ICON). Mixing will be done by Jason Suecof (CAPHARNAUM, CROTCHDUSTER) and mastering will be handled by Scott Hull (PIG DESTROYER). A September 13 release through Willowtip Records is expected. A European release will follow through Earache Records. A North American tour is in the works for the fall.
