Now this is a classic! First heard this in '81 and it absolutely withstands the test of time
Dirty, beer and meth fueled outlaw rock n roll.
A truly unique style and sound never duplicated.
Classic akbum cover, classic logo and of course classic music.
Thank ypu!

If there was ever an album that would make you want to chew tobacco, kill teenagers, drink yourself half to death, and break a chair over someone's head at a bar, this is it. It's gritty, irreverent, irresponsible, and perfect for drunken games of poker.

I agree that this is a definite classic. Believe it or not, I've always thought of this and Overkill as the real precursors to thrash metal because until Metallica (or Exodus, may be), those were probably the fastest and loudest metal albums on the planet.

My only gripe? That "Please Don't Touch" song. Always irritated me. Otherwise, excellent album.

Man,those albums are considered precursors to thrash metal by the majority of metal fans,so you're a special case only for the fact that you didn't know that!

Actually, I knew it long before I even got into Motorhead. In fact, up until my first Motorhead purchase (their Greatest Hits), I actually thought they were the first thrash metal band, judging both from the biography I read on All Music and the influence they had on pretty much every bay area thrash band in the 80s.

On the topic of Motorhead, what's the verdict on Inferno? I'm surprised with wha little publicity it and Motorhead's other albums since No Sleep 'til Hammersmith get seeing as to how Motorhead is so famous.

Inferno is very good. Best of the 00's.

I was listening to 95's Sacrifice, and thinking that must be a pretty underrated Motorhead album. The songs are pretty much wall-to-wall excellent on that one.

But anyway, on topic: Unfortunately the title track of this record has been tainted for me, by it's endless overuse on Yoof TV adverts. Definitely deserving its stauts though. :D

Sacrifice is not underrated, since it's generally considered the best Motorhead from the 90s!Or at least their most brutal.

Agreed with that! Still a great album, and Please Don't Touch is a great song!

Overall though, I'd say Overkill was better. Any takers?

I prefer Ace of Spades. All the songs are good on it.On Overkill sometimes i skip some songs. But it's still a kick in the balls album, and it came before Ace of Spades!Bomber is great too.

I'd take Another Perfect Day over any other Motorhead album... Robbo on the axe does an awesome job (better than any other Motorhead axeman) and then, if not all the songs are good (pretty much all are though), Dancing On Your Grave & Shine are two absolute gems ! :D

Overkill has some fuck off riffs. I think with a more experienced band, that album would have sounded twice as good. Then again, a more experienced band might not have been willing to record such primitive material.

Looking at the killing songs.. where is Live to Win? Clearly that is the most killing neck snapper on the disc.
