Dreadnaught is an Aussie band of whom I've just had a few listens to, and I have a mixed reaction. Their sound is a mix of power/thrash metal and a slight hint of country slide guitar in some of the slower parts (a pretty cool effect). On one hand the musicianship is excellent; great riffs, juicy bass, and fat meaty drumming. The production is fantastic as well. This could be an above average band if it wasn't for one thing - vocals. Now, don't get me wrong, the vocalist is pretty tidy. However he lacks range and power, having more of a 90s grunge voice than metal. There are also slight hints of nu-metal influences in his delivery. Still, they're worth checking out.

Sounds interesting. Do you have any links to samples?

Yeah I like the power/thrash combo and would like to hear some samples myself.

No, sorry I don't. All I have is the actual cd.

Yep that's them, plus it's the album that I have too. They're ok if you're in a store and there's nothing else worth picking up.
