Whilst in Virgin looking for some death metal, I came across a cd by Necrophagia which claimed to be rarities etc., therefore I thought fuck yes! and bought it right away... It wasn't the Necrophagia I thought it was-the cd is called Cannibal Holocaust and Phil Anselmo plays guitar on it... To my shame I am enjoying it aswell...

Yes...In my excitement I didn't take a good look-this artwork is awesome!

That's the best view I can find of the artwork. After a few listens I've realised this cd is only good for the title track, so I'm gonna take it back. Anyone got any good excuses for changing cds?

Take the CD out, it's a new drink coaster now. Go back to Virgin with the shrinkwrap and the empty case, and say that's how it was when you opened it. That happened to me TWICE in real life when I used to buy at Tower, so Virgin should be just as willing to make up for it. :P Even though it's a lie. :P

BTW, Dago, this may appeal to you actually, it's very dirty gore/death metal with cool vocals, simple but dirty riffs and good subject matter (horror movies) Download the song Cannibal Holocaust (which is the only song I really like, hehe)

Why am I not surprised that the Observer gave this a positive review?

Because if I took a shit into a disc player, compressed it into CD shape, and sent it to them I'd get a 7/10?

They give everything high scores.

Track 1-Nice keyboard intro, fun song, needs a solo. The riffing is too simple, power chord abuse. Vocals are boring. Overall it is quite fun.

Track 2-Not memorable in any way. Same detracting factors as before.

Track 3-Cool intro taken from the Evil Dead "what's wrong with her eyes?" etc. pretty crappy, no, crappy.

Track 4-fucking shite keyboard trtack.

Track 5-a minute of slow power chords, then indecipherible shite with gargling vocals.

The video included is also abysmal, recorded in what appears to be a living room interspersed with clips of Cnnibal Holocaust.

Overall-30/100 The first track is fun, the cover art rules...

I need to send them my review, with a big steaming pile of bullshit just to show them that they talk crap, and I know the truth.

I read somewhere a review of their debut and the reviewer stated that it's nice thrash with some old-school death elements.

And I found out that they made a split with Sigh... I'm curious why Sigh did it.
