I kind of appreciate bolt thrower, I like the slower approach..

I agree with Dead Machine, sometimes you enjoy a band's songs, and sometimes you enjoy their overall sound. Napalm Death is a band whose sound I find utterly addictive but if you asked me to name my favourite song of theirs I'd just say "errrr.."

I'd accept that about metalcore or even nu-metal, but not about Opeth. They haven't spawned a legion of imitators, they haven't created their own genre. All they do is play a particular form of metal, and have become popular through it. Do they deserve it? I think so.

OK, so you don't like them. You feel they aren't any good. So YOU, don't give them your money or ears. Simple. They have worked hard, they deserve their celebrity status, as low as it is in the metal world.

As a result of my disliking of their music, I don't feel they deserve a place in the metal celebrities. I think they should have broken up ages ago because they do nothing interesting.
