That's Baphomet, dude. And what's with the French horn in his crotch?

I think Belzebuth is french for Baphomet... 8)

and I kinda liked the art (except for the french horn indeed which kinda ruins everything)

Ooh, look at me, I speak two languages...

And is that a deer's head? Shouldn't it be a goat, or is this the French connection again?

"Painted"? "Spent some time on a computer", you mean. Where's it from, looks familiar. Album cover?

Edit: belzebuth = baalzebub =/= baphomet

actually, that not a deer, more like an antilope

and I found it on a blog related to Cradle of Filth so it might be where you recall the image from

as from the actual equivalent to Belzebuth in english, I have no idea and I couldn't care less...

Antelope = deer. Don't blind me with science.

Ouch.

And ontopic: it really depends. You can't set a rule over such a varied subject.

A lot of BM full-lengths are like 30-35 minutes...

And it all depends. In the end music is a form of expression, and a meaning lies in the foundation of it. So if a band can fully express themselves in 15-20 minutes then I'm fine with it.

But which one would I prefer? For me it's the same as with books: sometimes I would better read a long novel and sometimes I would take a short story instead of it. And of course it also depends on my free time.

It really depends on many different factors.. For me it's very important that the songs fit into the general 'picture' of the disk. So too many tracks can detract from the value of the disk if they are just thrown in there without consideration. But in general 15-20 minutes should be a track length and not a record length...

@Zad: What happened to your title  ? [nitpick] Besides from a severe case of bad grammar [/nitpick]

I agree with Eisenfaust. Truely epic black metal needs plenty of time to express its ideas, both in songs and album length. Now for the rougher, more aggressive kind, shorter lengths is ok.

I don't know if it's the best format, or not... as others have mentioned, it depends on the style, artistic goals, etc. But, some of the best albums in the genre just so happen to be splits/EP's.

Not only the avatar:
1. His writing style, although maybe a tad different
2. His favorite albums (every single on of them)
3. His avatar
4. His downloadprogram and fav hub
5. etc.
