Hi, long time reader, but this is my first post on the new forums.

Does anyione know what became of the Japanese band Rennaissance that had their Demo reviewed on the site a couple of years ago? The song Galaxy that's in the Sounds section is just amazing.

I've been asking that too, but no one seems to want to respond.

Hmm, I seemed to have missed something then. I have never heard of this band called Renaissance. Do you have a link to their website?

I don't think they have one. Go to the 'Sounds' section of this site to get the song I was talking about.

Somehow I missed this post. If anyone would know it's Chris because I think he was personal friends with the guitarist in that band. I do remember Chris mentioning something about them recently (I'm pretty sure they broke up) but I can't say for sure. I don't think Chris checks the board though.

WEll, be sure to download "Galaxy" from this site. You won't regret it. I have yet to hear one person who didn't think that song was killer.

If they are broken up, I hope they'll let metalreviews.com have the rest of the songs from the demo to post. Doesn't metalreviews.com have a good relationship with Ange? Maybe he'll give us the MP3s.

Chris sent it to me a long time ago, and yes, it's an awesome song, I still listen to it every now and then. It's just Chris who knows Ange and Chris is in Romania (at least I think so) for awhile, so if I remember when he gets back I'll pass the message along.

I was trying to re-find the track GALAXY.mp3 that I lost and the link is broken :(
Anyway, will ge it later...

The guy called Ange has released a few other tracks, but they are more JPop than metal. The guy (Greg) that I also know personally is a Swiss guy (like half of Chris, lol, and me) who loves japan. He learned japanese language and started to sing JPop, mixed sometimes with english or/and french. Very nice. I like many of his songs.

He's actually a 1 man band. I think he did everything in Galaxy except the guitar played by one of his japanese friend.

Here you can see a few art pictures of him made by Chris:
http://www.saiyan.ch/gallery.html?galle ... =4&start=0

Here you can find his website:
http://www.egansolo.com/
They are a few demos tracks. I like the track call Eden with some Japanese, English and french.
He changed his artist name to Egansolo.

But he hasn't updated his website since his trip to japan 3 years ago. He has a great potential so I hope he will exploit it.

Now with the obligatory joke out of the way, wow someone dregded up my first post. Sunrise, sunset.

Anyways yeah I heard Ange/Egan's demos and I like certain aspects of some of them (Eden in particular) but I don't exactly quiver with excitement over J-pop. I wish he and the guitarist had stuck at Rennaissance.

Shinji, do you happen to know if there are any mp3's of the other two songs on the Rennaissance demo available anywhere?

every time i listen to it i just cant believe that this was made way back in the 80s!
necrephobic is possibly the fastest song ive ever heard, except maybe for something by s.o.d!

Hahaha, I had a smiley for every post.

 Yeah, I saw this post by chance, and was surprised Chris didn't answer to it. I guess he missed it.

As I know Greg (Ange) personally, he handed to Chris all the songs and Chris gave it to me with his permission; the condition was: don't give it to anyone. So I have them in Switzerland, but I'm currently in Autralia until end of February, so I can't get them. And as mentionned above, I can't just give away the MP3 to whoever I want. That's why it may be better that you contact Chris or Greg directly and ask one of them if you can get the MP3 of Believe and Yesterday Is Gone.

Beleive is more JPop style than JRock or Metal, so you might not like it. Personnally, I love it, but I love JPop and JRock as much as metal. But I can't remember how Yesterday is Gone sounds like... :?: They are other songs I really like from Greg but I can't really remember... One is the Jap version of Une Raison (I think it's the 1st track, called Heaven, not available in MP3). And I think Say Goodbye is really good too. Another song is Michealange, which is more a demo song (not an any albums), no guitar, only piano, but I just love it.

But you have to know this: Galaxy is the only really metal song I heard from him. So don't expect the same style from songs I mentionned.

Ok, See ya, and let me know if you have any other questions/request about Ange.

Shinji.

I sent an e-mail to Greg/Ange/Egan a few months ago asking if the demo was still available and the response was something like "Unfortunately you can't get those demos anymore" or words to such effect. Doesn't sound like he's too keen to discuss the matter. :?
