I still think that old bodom is definatly melodic death, the voice the guitar and keybord melodies, and the lyrics. I just cant picture bodom as a Power metal, they did change their sound over the years but its not power metal, i'd catagorize Angra as power metal or some other similar bands. You can't just start mixing genders around just because they have some aspects of other kinds of genders. It cant be any clearer that they are melodic death and maybe some other influences.

One of their biggest influences was Stratovarius.

Since when have keyboard melodies been a signature of melodic death? And the guitar is the main reason people claim they are power metal. Are you telling me the guitar playing (first three albums at least, possibly four) reminds you more of At the Gates than Stratovarius?

I still don't think theyre power metal. Stratovarius arent a power metal band, they're a symphonic euro metal band, and thats just what CoB is except with harsh vocals. Warlord is a power metal band.

Quit arguing dumb shit.

Indeed! But alas, if he listened...he would have nothing left to do here.

Why do you always seem to weasel your way into these discussions. Eyesore can think whatever he wants, I'm just giving him my opinion, if I stopped arguing then people would rely on antagonistic little pricks like you for information...and that just won't do.

Yes, how on earth do I weasel my way into threads on a public forum. I must be one crafty sumbitch.

You have nothing but misinformation to offer to anyone. Concerning anything but thrash, of course.

I dont find the guitars sound like At the Gates, thoes guys are more thrashy and in my opinion they dont sound much like bodom. You may be right, if i had to choose who they sounded more like it would be strato but only in the aspects of melodies, but in any other aspects i wouldnt say they sound at all like strato. And stratovarius is more on the speedy side. Thats why when you put death voice, lyrics about beating someones face in with a six pound rock or sleeping on a bed or razors and how the pain and blood is flowing down your arms, with melodic guitars and key boards, it gives you melodic death metal.

Wait, wait, wait.

You say they don't sound like At The Gates, right? In terms of the guitars, correct?

Then you turn around and say that the guitars make them sound like melodic death metal, along with keyboards (which aren't a core aspect of melodeath), and the 'death voice...' which also sounds nothing like Tomas Lindberg, the holy grail of melodeath singers, raspy but audible. Is that what you're trying to say? Since they take riffs, the backbone of all metal, that sound like Stratovarius but then throw on a bunch of other elements not especially characteristic of melodeath, they're suddenly melodeath?

No offense pal, but you're either foreign (and thus have trouble communicating an idea in English) or stupid. There's no bloody melodeath in Bodom's sound and never has been.

I dont know about crafty, you are one morose mother fucker though. You're posts are the most depressing things I've ever read. All you do is lurk in the shadows waiting for, it seems, me to say something so you can pounce and make your sorry little ass feel better for the time being.

So if you're going to make this a personal insult war then we should just meet up in person and duke it out, other wise this is a waste of time. If you want to talk metal than do so, quit being such a fucking child. Use arguments not insults.

Wow, Holy_Terror finally resorted to threatning to break someone's face (as they say). Sad.

So, we're back to that dance we do where you tell me to stop insulting you directly after you've flung a barrage of name-calling my way. Cool.

And yes, I think everyone here can attest to your suspicion. All I really do here is wait, in the shadows, and then pounce on you when the time is right. In fact, if you were to look at the percentage of my posts here, I'm sure at least 97% would involve me insulting Holy_Terror.

CoB are power metal, more bland than extreme. Whoever thinks they're death metal knows nothing of that genre, those who think they're melodeath are simply wrong (I'm not gonna bother argue why, Dead Machine already did) and those who think CoB are black metal (yes, those people exist, I've even read a review stating Cob are black) should be forced to join CoB... that's punishment enough.

Yes I started this one didnt I. Every post I made on this topic was directed at you, insulting you, and provoked you to action. Man, how could I have been so careless.

This is a fucking joke. I was talking about CoB and suddenly you come around and mysteriously it turns into a personal flame war. You're right 97% of your posts signal things going south. Every single time without fail, and they always bare the same characteristics you starting the fight and then trying to blame me for it. Amazing.

Funny I could say the exact same thing about you.

Virtually every response you make in the power metal forum to threads you didn't start (and even some of those) follows the exact same pattern.

-modern power metal isn't power metal
-it all sucks anyway
-people who like it are stupid and know nothing about music

Without fail.
