Maybe not their new stuff, but listen to Follow the Reaper.

catchy melodies, LOTS of keyboards, heavy usage of power chords. I don't know, they just seem be more power metal than black or death metal.

What do you consider them?

I dont know, the Keyboards make me want to say they're not power metal.

Death Metal is not melodic....there are select melodic parts in DM, but on the whole, real death metal is not melodic....at all.

Nothing about them is death metal.

What he said

and I would say Follow the Reaper is sort of power metal, I just call them "guitar driven metal" do describe them to like anyone.

HAHA!! Wait a minute, I didn't start this thread. Anyway, I still think they are more power metal than melodic death or melodic black. Put some clean vocals in there and there would be no argument.

Power/Death hybrid. Certainly not melodic death!

Songs off the new one (no), the first one (Something Wild?). I probably just need to get Follow The Reaper and just listen to it. Any suggestions?

Well yeah, the second and third are the best (that's Hatebreeder and Follow the Reaper). I actually thought you'd like Something Wild since its a bit more raw and less PM, but then the songwriting isn't at its strongest and Alexi's singing is probably at its worst.

If you get Hatebreeder or FTR, they need a good few spins before you can pick the songs apart.

What origionally turned me off is that they're a bit chaotic. Listening to parts of Hate Crew Deathroll was torture a few months back.
