The Alien Saga. Always loved these flicks. Wondering if anyone else worships them, or even remembers them for that matter. Heh, tech these days... who knows.

I really like the first two, but hate the 3rd and 4th. At least that's how I get when I try watching them all in a row. Alien 4 isn't awful, it's just levels below Alien/Aliens. Alien 3... I HAVE NO SYMPATHY FOR. 4/10. Pain. Boredom. Coulda been a slot for a GOOD addition to the fucking saga. I'll talk more if I get good vibes from fellow fans. Bye.

Alien 10/10

Aliens 9/10

Alien 3 4/10

A. R. 6/10

Whole series 7/10

The first two are legendary imo and I don't really hate 3 and 4, they were just simply dissapointing.

Alien 10/10
Aliens 10/10
Alien 3 3.5/10
AR 6.5/10

Of course the first 2 are legendary but I must give the ever so slight edge to Aliens because Space Marines kick ass and I prefer action movies more.

I would have given Alien 3 a 1 but then I bought the box set and learned of all the problems they had and how altered the movie was from what it was intended to be so I guess I should cut it some slack. The movie still bores me to tears though.

Alien Ressurection is nothing speacial and does absolutely nothing to advance the story but it is at least enjoyable. I think it stands ok as an individual movie but to be a part of the Alien series it is severely lacking.

AVP? HAHAHAHAHAHA! seriously how do you fuck up the AVP concept? Hollywood sure as hell found a way. Actually I heard there was a sequal on the way, any truth to that?

Alien - 8/10
Aliens - 10/10
Alien 3 - 6/10
A.R. - 2/10
AvP - 4/10

What's with all the negative scores about Alien 3. It's far better than A.R....that movie sucked. Even AvP performed better.

Am I the only person who thinks the alien puppet effects in Aliens stand up REALLY well compared to CGI "overanimated" creatures in movies made up to this very day? I'm not saying puppets are all around better, but for Aliens, it worked, and really well. Insect like movements... god, awesomeness.

Someone mentioned the Marines.

I find the Marines to be comical, in that unrealistic, unprofessional, "they'd never be like that," kinda way. But, then I consider that the military could very well be a joke in a future like that. Which they basically admit, because they groan about going on another "bug hunt." Heh. Then their smug faces get fist fucked. So, in a way I hate them, but at the same time, love 'em.

The first two are excellent, the rest I refuse to accept as legitimate continuations of the storyline.

Alien 10/10
Aliens 8/10
Alien 3 6/10
A.R. 6/10

I agree with NFAE on the creature effects. Part of it is the basic design (but then, I suffer from Giger worship), and part is the operation. Those effects were years ahead of their time. If you compare Alien to, say, the Cronenberg remake of The Fly, the difference is obvious. The fly looks fake now, but the alien still stands up.

Yeah, I've always been a fan of animatronics and real effects over CGI. CGI RARELY ever works.

Indeed. Dylan Moran's crappy CG entrails in Shaun of the Dead were a big downer :(

Alien 9/10

A:R 2/10

Me an' Alien 3 have a sort of love/hate thing going on. I love much of what they made of an awkward script and nightmarish production. Plus the music and set design are just beautiful.
