Ghost Reveries was the first Opeth album I ever checked out after seeing high praises all over the web. People swear up and down by Opeth like they are THE band. So I said what the hell, and got their newest one, and I gotta say, I was very dissapointed. I'm sure someone will say "hey now you just have to get the old stuff," but regardless Ghost Reveries is a lifeless and boring album, and the fact that such emasculation could win best all around only proves what a fanatical fan base these guys have. Hell, the review on this site was boderline Opeth felatio.

Arthur, you must join us Opeth bashers!! We don't bash Opeth because they are so bad btw, we bash them because they are mediocre but get a huge praise. Dead Machine is the most fanatic Opeth basher around. Stupid antidynamic, quasiemotional bastard breed!

If anything, I think the Opeth-haters are the fanatics around here. I mean, jeez some people sound like they would personally like to wipe them off the face of the planet.

True. Opeth threads never explode into 11 pages until DM and Gast arrive.

Opeth is great.

The new one's marginal for them, however.

If it wasn't for us, Opeth threads would be insanely boring circle-jerking.

Differing opinions make the world go round and threads interesting.

I disagree with Opeth's foreign policy. and they're clearly in the pockets of the corporations.

No, they're not. They make the world go round. Hungry Africans use them to keep their baby children alive whilst Sir Bob Geldof materializes with bread and soup for them.

Edit: /\ was @ Rio.

You consume the third world like a toddler on his first nipple. You are a shame to the Workmen's Union.

Yes I voted for Stephen O'Malley as "Humanitarian Aid Worker of the Year" for his charity campaign "Help Africa... with Drone Music!". Remember guys, £2 can feed a family for a day, but Trollmann av Ildtoppberg records last a lifetime.
