How fucking cruel life is. Miners get shit deals in life as it is, sent underground in dreadful conditions, and I can't begin to imagine what the families went through in that small period of time.

i don't understand why ppl would be satisfied with such a shitty job, that imo doesn't belong in the modern world...

Basically, because they're a bunch of stupid hillbillies who put too much trust in jesus and not enough in themselves. It went from being a great miracle to a tragedy, God obviously changed his mind.
