Bwaha.

2 shocks from it:

1) Daniel?! Where are you?
2) Aaron likes Avenged Sevenfold!? That's the last time I pretend you're my little brother!

Overall, not bad. Jesu getting recognistion they (he) deserves.

Edit: OK, I'm an idiot.

I think Opeth deserve it. They've shot up from the underground without selling out; ie keep making good music. Here's to a good 2006 in Metal and out of it.

What happened to the avant-garde section? I pulled Pelican out of the Doom section for that!

uhm, one thing though: one reviewer had Nickelback in his.her(dunno who it was nor do i want to check it) top 10.

1)it's not metal, i don't even consider it as decent rock
2) even for them, it sucks from what i've heard from friends and from songs
3) why? why did you put them there? W-H-Y???

anyways, everyone has their own taste

happy 2006 everyone

Metal is subjective and I would say it ecompasses rock, or vice versa. I have Pro-Pain in my top 15 and they're metallic hardcore, what about System Of A Down? Not strictly metal. Nickelback aren't too much of a stretch. I'd have put Ani Difranco in my top 15 if I could have.

I'm all for being open minded... but Nickelback is bland radio ROCK. Nothing more, nothing less. SOAD is still metal.

Bland to YOU. I'd argue (and be correct) that at least 50% of Iron Maiden's and Judas Priest's material is ROCK! Yet you'd never complain about them being on this site.

don't get me wrong, im a huge rock fan but this isn't rock..it's commercial pop bullcrap with a frontman who looks like a poodel that's beaten with a blunt object who makes songs to play in on ppl with weak emotions
