Holy Diver has that brutal track, which name we shall not speak. But I agree The Last In Line is probably a close 2nd to Dream Evil because it doesn't have any weak songs. Sacred Heart is also very good, but again has 1 song that makes me want to vomit.


I just can't believe Dream Evil can be better than Last in Line;i guess i'll have to check it,and then also check Holy Diver,and Sacred Heart!


You should check out all Dio stuff, especially Dream Evil which is close to perfect. Sacred Heart is pretty good, but much weaker that his others from the 80's

I really like Strange Highways (was my 1st Dio album), except for the title track which sucks, the rest of it is very good.

Jesus, Mary, And The Holy Ghost is a killer song, one of Dio's best I think. The rest of the album just kind of drags on with a similar pace all the way through with no real surprises. I exaggerated abit, it doesnt suck, but compared to all the other Dio album I own (the ones listed, its just alot worse then them all.

Best songs from the album I think:

Here's To You
Bring Down The Rain

The rest ranges from solid enough to boring for me.

Evilution is amazing.

the others need more listens to sink in. It is really juicy and heavy very underrated, and blows away Killing the Dragon which was so mediocre.

Magica got some (about half) unbelievable songs, but the other half is a bit hard to digest.

My question is what happened to the speed? Did it walk out with Vivian Campbell? Every album after the Last in Line is too damn slow.

want nonstop no brains speed? listen to Dragonforce, I like it slow, Dio has always been mid speed to doomy
