Someone posted this before, but this MP3 has been creeping up in my playlist for a good while now, I finally just order their album and new EP the other day. I'll review them when they come in, but for now check out this MP3:

THE GATES OF SLUMBER - BROKEN ON THE WHEEL

This is some excellent Sabbath-influenced doom metal! I'm hoping the rest of the songs on their releases are of the same quality.

Hmm... I'm joining this discussion late in the day, but I have to say lately I have been greatly enjoying a bit of funeral doom. Consummatum Est is cool.

But something I think is vastly superior is Pantheist, who I've just discovered through their soundclick page. For those unfamiliar, this is awesome!

OK, I've been listening to The Awakening and Like A Plague Upon The Land all fucking day and they're AWESOME!! Some killer 70's influenced doom metal. So good.

Anyone heard The Obssessed? It's Sabbath worship no doubt, but damn good stuff. Think Sabbath with more Rock. Wino from St. Vitus is the singer. If you find anything by them pick it up as most of it is out of print.
