Most of the stuff i listen to was made in the 80's! Metal has gone downhill badly since the mid 90's.

Yeah..actually you're right! I thought you wanted bands from other countries than England.Otherwise i also Choose Whitesnake,and Paradise Lost,and The Darkness,and UFO,and Rainbow,and Black Sabbath,and The Cult,and Queen,and Led Zeppelin,and Deep Purple,and Judas Priest,and Motorhead(unless if the last two are considered NWOBHM)!

Judas Priest is from the Old School of British Heavy metal and includes bands like Motorhead and Deep Purple.

How the fuck are they an 80s band? And JP are a NWOBHM band, imo.

How can Judas Priest be part of the New Wave of British Heavy metal when they were putting out albums in the early 70's??? The NWOBHM started in 79. So you see my friend Judas Priest is part of the OWOBHM.

Oh, yeah, I DO see.
But my point on The Darkness still stands.

Yes they are garbage and have nothing to do with heavy metal.

They weren't making metal music until sometime in late 70's anyway so in essence the time they started making metal music is when the NWOBHM scene started.

Ya, 1974 for Rocka Rolla (which does have metal on it) and 1976 for Sad Wings of Destiny is right at the end of the decade. Priest were never a NWOBHM band, though they influenced it incredibly.

Make me bitch

And Brahm Rocka Rolla and SWOD are considered hard rock albums with maybe a little metal in there but overall it wasn't until Stained Class when they started going into full metal and it was about that time that the NWOBHM movement began.

you are not right... you're a lousy metalhead... you should hide in shame and cry about your lost honour... JP are NOT part of the NWOBHM, they're the godfathers, a major influence to it but that doesn't, in any way, make 'em a part of it...

ho, and the NWOBHM was not entirely "metal"... bands like Tygers of Pan Tang or Raven or Samson (etc..) have had that vicious hard rocking thingy that doesn't exclude them from the NWOBHM... those were different times you probably didn't live so let them who did pass you the wisdom... :D

I got into this same discussion on another forum a while back and a lot of metal heads including some true die hard JP fans that have started listening to them since RR agreed with me that JP were not a true metal band until the late 70's in which case they helped kick start the NWOBHM movement and in which case makes them a part of it whether you agree with it or not so there you lousy metalhead

:D

T.I.E. is, as usual, playing the "you weren't there so you know nothing" card, but to say Sad Wings isn't a Metal album is just plain wrong.

Listen to Genocide, The Ripper, Island of Domination and tell me it ain't Metal. The 70s production means the guitar tone is very thin, but there's more to Metal than distortion.
