What did you think?

I voted below average. This year had so many disappointments.

I knew you'd be the first to pick that option.

Voted "good". It was a great year for power metal IMHO. Both Freedom Call, Hammerfall and Stratovarius failed me but on the other hand we got strong releases from Helloween, Kamelot, Nevermore, Nocturnal Rites, Timeless Miracle, Sabaton, Savage Circus, Gamma Ray....

I thought it was below average, some solid releases with the only thing that was truely a nice/fresh surprise being Timeless Miracle. Though, I have not heard everything, obviously.

You shouldn't have added the last option.

Nevermore is power metal?

They're a combo of power and thrash really though you can't lump them in one niche because there are several elements in their music.

I also voted for the "good" option. Not the best year for power metal, but there were alot of great power metal albums that i went out and sought after. With such a big genre, there was plenty to choose from. So not the best but a very solid year for PM

I think this year the good PM albums outnumber the bad ones so i voted for "good". In a year where the newcomers release better albums than the veteran bands will always count as good in my book.

Certainly 'good.'

HammerFall and Falconer were disappointing and Bodom were horrific, sure, but Masterplan, Firewind, Helloween, Kamelot, Nevermore (yes Nevermore), Morgana Lefay and probably some others were all very good.

And unlike everyone else I liked the new Stratovarius and Freedom Call.

In truth, there's no "do not express your dislike for the genre as a whole rule". So what rule I'm breaking (was breaking  )......

Oh, please.

You should not invite antagonizing of a genre that a board is based on, which is what MetalNESS did with that option. Though you only took the bait, you're both guilty.

This is an inferred rule.

Oops, sorry! I'll have to bring my psychic cap with me next time.

Seriously, it won't happen again.
