I dunno, some people seemed kinda down on 2004, but the more I listen, the more good albums I think came out. I still haven't gotten the last 2 Enslaved albums (I know... but just no good local stores selling metal) but I'm sure Isa will be one of my faves.

Not one thing wrong with the Bm releases of this year, they are so good that i'm having a really hard time makeing a top 15. I just realized that I forgot about Noenum (didn't know it was 2004), that's got to be high in my list as well...

Bride Adorned "blessed stillness" (over cheesy classical power metal... nice though... kinda reminds me of Adagio but not as good)

Kreator "enemy of god"
first time, not bad, solid german thrash metal with a modern edge... Mile's voice is still the weak point imo

Was it just me, or was this the tiniest bit of a letdown? I mean, it IS a great album that deserves to be on any best of 2004 list, but for some reason I liked Remission better. Leviathan didn't seem as spine-crushingly heavy. Maybe I just haven't listened to it enough yet.

Definitely would love to catch these guys live. They rule.

I agree milkbaby; Remission was better, but still, this one is great.

i've heard they're crazy live; I really want to see Dailor handling the drums live....

Now playing:

Dismember - Where Ironcrosses Grow

Well, to me one of the best death metal releases this year.
Nice GRRRRindy sound, aggressive vocals and drumming, groovy riffs and very nice solos.
Old school Swedish Death Metal like Entombed used to make in the early days.
