I have the feeling you lot have completely forgotten Slough Feg's Atavism which is a great traditional heavy metal album... the best in its category this year (Judas Priest & Bruce Dickinson just can't compete to it)... you have to try it !!! :D

Is that the monkey one?

Of all the genres this one is the most difficult for me to choose my favourites due to the large number of great releases this year.

However, I set only one criteria when choosing favourites: sheer enjoyment, and not so much originality or amazing musicianship.

Apart from my top 5, other albums I really enjoyed this year include those by: Cryonic Temple (this would have been no 6), Gamma Ray, Timeless Miracle, Edguy, Rob Rock, Sabaton, Shaaman, Supreme Majesty (excellent!), Thy Majestie, Majestic Vanguard (great Christian metal), Nevermore, Savage Circus, Hammerfall, Helloween, Kinrick, Kiuas, Demons & Wizards, Elwing, Lanfear.

If I had heard the new Divinefire and Primal Fear things might have been different.

I'm just now again listening to Masterplan - Aeronautics, which I voted 2nd after Dreamtale - Difference, and I must say I am torn between the two. Dreamtale plays with so much passion and I absolutely enjoy their latest album, but Masterplan is in a league of their own: polished, melodic, powerfull, totally professional and, dare I say, PERFECT! Along with Dionysus - Anima Mundi this Masterplan album may be one of the best ever released. At least imo.

Wouldn't go that far, but it's certainly a great album.

Excellent album, but I think the first one is better.

Agree. Although I think the new one is more consistent (first one maybe tails off a bit towards the end) it's less spectacular.

Right, I think there are a few stinkers on the first one and really none on Aeronautics, but Aeronautics lacks some of the punch and catchiness that the first one has. Songs like "Enlighten Me" and "Soulburn" don't exist on the new one. I think Aeronautics is more consistent as a whole, but the self-titled has the better songs. Does that make sense?

Agreed with areonautics being more consistent, but i also thinks it has better songs than the self titled.

Thanks for giving us your ratings on the albums you voted for stub. You obviously read the voting rules.

Stub - I just fixed some of your entries so that the vote will actually count.

I suggest you do the same in all the other forums I don't moderate so that the staff will acknowledge your vote at all.

I secondly suggest that you tape a roll of toilet paper to your mouth to keep all that shit from falling out.

Seriously, cut out the fucking 'I know everything, you are all dumbasses and I mock you for it' routine. It's not making you any friends except T.I.E, but he likes near-everyone on this forum anyway, so it's not much of a compliment.

Please.

Anyway ,thanks man for fixing my entries, but this voting poll is too complicated for me,so anyway, even if my vote is useless, that's not a problem;my opinion counts very little!
