Anyone who listens to Judas Priest for their lyrics is in need of serious help. And if we are going to debate which Priest album had the best lyrics, it would undoubtedly be Stained Class, followed by Sad Wings of Destiny.

Agree. Priest's lyrics weren't anything to write home about, yet they weren't overly bad. I would say Demolition did have a few tracks with strong lyrics. Have to build up my Priest collection though. Planning to pick up Killing Machine, British Steel and Screaming For Vengeance. Many say Point Of Entry was Priest's weakest album. Thinking about picking up that too. What's bad about Point Of Entry?

Nothing!

A lot, actually. There are two good songs, but besides that, the riffs suck, the production is shit, etc...

I disagree;this album has 2 or 3 average songs ,but the rest is very good!

I think i know what you don't like about this album : it grooves!Like ACDC!

Can you go more than two posts without being an abrasive fuckwad?

Just a query. Simple query.

First of all what is a fuckwad, and what is query? Just keep in mind i'm french, and sometimes i don't understand your "patois"!

Second,my point is :when you spend your time on a metal forum talking about heavy metal, the least required is that you know what you're talking about! That means that at least you have to know the base of heavy metal:Judas Priest ,Iron Maiden,Black Sabbath,Deep Purple,Led Zeppelin,Rainbow,Ozzy,Motorhead,AC DC,Van Halen,Scorpions,Saxon,Thin Lizzy,Manowar,Metallica,Mercyfull Fate,Slayer ,Megadeth;and that's the least that you can do,otherwise your opinion is worthless!

It's like talking about classical music when you never studied Mozart's music,or Beethoven's!!That doesn't make any sense to me.(but of course this is just my opinion.)

OR.... you come here to discover new metal. Metal you have never heard before. Metal you know is popular, but you want to see which album people recommend most.

There is no need for your lame comments.

Wow, muchos hatred. I got into metal through Maiden, and branched out from there. I haven't got all their albums (about 3, I think), and buying them all isn't on my list of achievements. Why do I have to listen to every HM band in existence before I digress? I'm digging the experimental stuff at the moment, a bit of old-school is a nice break.

Anyway, have you got all Chuck Berry's albums? Have you got all the early, real fucking rock n' roll stuff? No? So shut up! So what it's taken me this long, at least I have tastes diverse enough to want to get into it without getting called out by some idiot.

BTW - "fuckwad" = an insult
- "Query" = question.

And I'm 20. Been listening to metal for nearly 2 years. And I haven't "just discovered" them, just a few things that interested me more than they did to go through first.

Anyway, fuck you, I don't need to justify myself to you, or to anyone. My musical journey is my own.

I really don't understand what's the big deal if someone who's been into metal since the 90s or later hasn't listened to Judas Priest. They're legends alrite, but they're pretty old. I don't think it would be surprising if someone who's got into metal in the 21st century wouldn't have listened to legendary bands that formed in the 80s. I have been listening to metal/rock ever since 88 and it's only a couple of months ago that i picked my first Led Zeppelin album. I do have a hard time picking up 60s and 70s stuff. It's only natural that you tend to listen to later bands or rather bands that evolved around the time you got into metal. I'm 30 now and that's why don't have any inhibitions picking up albums released in the early 80s. Had i been 20, i probably wouldn't have Priest & Maiden at the top of the list of bands' albums that i need to pick unless they were the bands that got me into metal. Yes, exceptions are there. Point is, just because you listen to your first metal album by a legendary band that's pretty old after being into metal for quite a while , does not mean your points are worthless as long as they make sense.

Which of their albums has the closest sound style to Stained Class( which is my 2nd most favorite Priest album after Jugulator)? It had such unique weird style. Especially White Heat, Red Hot it almost sounds like Rush.

Sin After Sin and Sad Wings....

Then probably Killing Machine (or Hell Bent for Leather, as its known in your part of the world) but that was when they started toning it all down a bit.
