After a long time with nothing relevant to reveal, we decide to open this web-site again, but with limited "fun" things to do. One of the reasons to do it now is the fact that we are soon to release a single and album, that is January for the single "Too Old, Too Cold", and February for the album "The Cult Is Alive". We are still performing metal. Blackmetal you say? well, yeah, maybe, depends on who is listening. Anyway, here are the full tracklisting for both releases:
TOO OLD, TOO COLD
-Too Old, Too Cold
-High On Cold War (Grutle from Enslaved with some guest-vocals)
-Love In A Void (coversong of Siouxie and the Banshees)
-Graveyard Slut

THE CULT IS ALIVE
-The Cult Of Goliath
-Too Old, Too Cold
-Atomic Coming
-Graveyard Slut (Fenriz on Vocals)
-Underdogs And Overlords
-Whisky Funeral
-De Underjordiske
-Tyster På Gud
-Shut Up
-Forebyggende Krig

Both releases will also be available on DMM pressed vinyls. More info will come when strictly necessary.

 The fuck?! Have they changed into Children Of Bodom without telling anyone?

I can't see them selling out exactly. Maybe their sense of humour fell into the website. Anyway, as Misha said, it'll be interesting...

This has nothing to do with selling out or anything. I have confidence in Darkthrone. They're the last band to sell out. They're just taking it easily.

Wouldn't it be stupid if they posted pictures with corpse paint and shit after 20 years? They're joking around.

No doubt.. if they are getting a little tired of being so damn kvlt all the time after like 15 years then I for one don't blame them.

The guys said somewhere that they only listened to Cryptic Slaughter and Repulsion while writing the new songs. And they're recording the album in their own Necrohell II studio.

So i think it's safe to say that we can expect some pretty filthy stuff. Sure, it'll probably be a departure from the old sound, but i for one wouldn't even want another Transilvanian Hunger.

A couple of quotes from Fenriz:

"Call it black metal or evil rock, i don't care!"

"Probably sounds something like Motörhead meeting Hellhammer on a crust punk/necrothrash gig in '85"

That piques my interest. It sounds like such a bizarre mix, it can't help but be good!

Im quite intriqued.
Im glad that their not trying to remain necro kvlt year latter like some of their contemporaries, ehm *cough* Satyricon *cough*.

aherm... i've never regarded Darkthrone as "kvlt", but grim and true  .... and new Satyricon are played on norwegian national television, thus far away of being "necro and kvlt" - imo corpse paint has nothing to do with tr00ness or kvltness or anything else... perhaps grimness and necroisme..

btw... isn't kvlt a term that should be used for bands that are no more?
