1. Scott Stapp -- The Great Divide
I don't know about the album, but it definitely gets the award for "Gayest CD Cover".
No, but seriously, now......I hate Scott Stapp.
Yes, I know allll about the hate, Ive like him for goin on 7 years now and I have heard every possible word of hate a person can have towards someone they dont even know. I like him goddammit! And he is heaps better than Black Eyed Peas... Just sayin :|
I don't know about heaps, but I guess I would choose a Creed record over a Black Eyed Peas one, if there was a gun to my head. 8) Scott Stapp is one of the rare instances where someone's personality (at least in interviews and such) pisses me off soooo much that I have an absolute aversion to their music.
I guess my hatred of Scott stems from a quote attributed to him when he was asked to respond to the many criticisms that his vocals were too similar to Eddie Vedder's.
What a normal person would have said: "I think its flattering, Pearl Jam helped pave the way for us, so its cool to be mentioned in the same sentence."
What Scott Stapp said: "Eddie Vedder wishes he could write lyrics like me."
What a joke.
I saw an interview on Muchmusic where Scott Stapp replied to that question with this, "Pearl Jam is a great band, so it is flattering" not an exact quote, but basically thats what he said. I've never seen or heard the quote you mentioned. Doesnt matter to me anyways, I like the music and I like Scott's lyrics more anyways. On his new album I heard he wrote all of the music: guitars, lyrics, etc.. Which I think deserves some respect.
Plus he sent anger management pamphlets to Fred Durst when Fred randomly started dissing Creed for no reason as a joke, which only angered him more. Stapp then challenged him to a boxing match, he was totally serious to, he was gonna use it to raise money for charity and kick Durst's ass at the same time. I thought that was both cool and funny. Durst chickened out though.
EDIT: Actually, you know what, I decided to check out your quote there and it turns out Scott Stapp never ever said that, Brian Marshall did, he was the bassist on the first 2 Creed albums and left before the 3rd. So Stapp has nothing to do with that quote.
Im sure no one cares anyways however.
