I've already stated that he can dislike the new In Flames all he wants, but saying things like "Man, it's nu-metal" in response to me saying Chaos AD is not nu-metal makes no sense. Nu-metal is a VERY defined genre yet there are some people that want to throw in a million different bands in that genre. Does Soulfly sound like Breaking Benjamin? Come on.

good to see the drummer has decided to blast the snare every fucking song, again. they REALLY have made the same song like 40 times since 99-00. Jester's Race is my all time favorite melodic death album and is what got me into swedish death. everything after jesters race got me the hell away from In Flames. Anders' strangled the band and Jesper just followed along. Dimension Zero I was psyched to listen to because it was Jesper's idea and it sounded like NEW IN FLAMES (guess who produced their last album...). kids, the band that got flames their start is still out there and making good music: they are called Dark Tranquillity. Go listen to them instead. This isnt death metal...its Anders metal.

@Eyesore: have you heard Skindred? The song I heard sounded like a Cavalera-impersonator yelling about DJs and bullets and stuff, his clean vocals were Limp Bizkit to a t. Or is that the only song in that style? :roll:

This is just further proof that Melodic Death Metal is and was, terribly gay!

But seriously, this band has without a doubt gone down the commercial path. Fuck any band that is in it for the money. I've heard all of their material, and they don't even sound like the same band anymore. Their stuff now is boring, and insipidly so. Down-tuning does not equal heavy, never has, never will. Is it Nu-Metal? Well, sorta. The lyrics are undeniably Mallcore, and the riffs and lack of solos is reminescent as well. I won't flat out call it Nu-Metal, as they are better than say Dope, but it's still angsty, riffless, teenager catered garbage.

Sepultura did influence what we now call Nu-Metal. I can tell Slipknot and Coal Chamber listened to LOTS of Chaos AD and Roots. And yes, Slipknot is Nu-Metal, like it or not.

Dude, I have tried NUMEROUS times in this thread to keep YOU from going "asshole." It hasn't worked. YOU are confrontational when people disagree with you. I've read a ton of your replies. That is you. My choice to stop the argument was based on keeping this board civil.

My comment about the mirror was A FUCKING JOKE!! It amazes me that ONE line is an insult to you, but a few replies earlier you're straight up being a dick towards me in TWO consecutive posts with all the EyeKenSore nonsense. Did you see me calling you BrainDead Machine, or Dead Machine Operated Dildo Tester? Or anything as equally childish? NO. So, even if my mirror comment was an insult, would it not be justified after you insulted me? Regardless, it was a joke. I think over the past few months here I've shown that I joke around, as I did this time.

As for your Chaos AD comment, like I said, an album having nu-metal elements does NOT make it nu-metal. You proved nothing. Kid Rock has country in some of his songs, he's NOT A COUNTRY ARTIST! I will quote myself from page 3:

Nu-metal bands are bands like Disturbed, Spineshank, Ultraspank (great name, by the way), Coal Chamber, etc. To me, those are TRUE nu-metal bands. They all have a consistent musical similarity. In Flames does not share that consistent similarity. "Nu-ish elements" has no significance because I can go back and find that shit on albums that came out 20 years before nu-metal became the latest scapegoat for bands that have strayed from their roots.

Shall I also quote the numerous times I tried to point out that you can have your opinion all you want, but I disagree? I've not insulted you once here. I called you childish, and that you have been...in THIS thread. That wasn't a general statement, but specific to this thread. I also sent you a PM and what was your asinine response? And when I resonded and asked what your problem was, what equally retarded response did I get?

I think numetal is synonymous(SP?) to "Bad+popular metal" for some people and that won't ever change.
