 Post subject: More Dragonforce news...
PostPosted: Wed Nov 23, 2005 7:06 pm
Roadrunner Records is proud to announce the signing of ‘extreme power metal’ icons DRAGONFORCE, for the UK, France, Australia and New Zealand.

The truly multi-national London-based outfit is fronted by South African-born frontman ZP Theart and completed by drummer David Mackintosh, Ukrainian keyboardsman Vadim Pruzhanov and the twin-guitar assault of Herman Li and New Zealander Sam Totman. Hong Kong-born Li was the recent winner of 2005’s Metal Hammer Awards’ Dimebag Darrell Award for Best Guitarist.

"We are very excited about signing to Roadrunner and look forward to working with one of the most respected rock labels in the world" said Li. "This will give us the opportunity to take the band to the next level and beyond!"

2005 was a stellar year for DRAGONFORCE in their mission to take on the world and establish themselves as one of the UK’s most successful and notorious metal bands. They shared festival stages with Iron Maiden and played a sell-out headlining tour of the UK, generating scenes of utter pandemonium. Bouts of intensive touring to accompany the band's two albums to date - 'Valley Of The Damned' in January 2003 and 2004’s 'Sonic Firestorm' - saw their fan-base escalate dramatically and the word spread like kerosene-fuelled wildfire across the press. The band have been swamped with accolades from all the respected metal titles with many journalists falling under the band's spell;

“DragonForce are getting bigger. Prepare for the onslaught!” - KERRANG!
"DragonForce are as metal as f**k….they'll be enormous” - METAL HAMMER.
“DragonForce could become the first British metal band in ages to reap respect from all over the world” - ROCK HARD (Germany).

Against all the odds, DRAGONFORCE have single-handedly revitalised power metal in their UK homeland, awarding credibility to a genre that ‘til their arrival was regarded was little more than a joke. Their third and most accomplished album; the faster, bolder, heavier ‘Inhuman Rampage’ (to be released on 9th January) will be accompanied by a UK headlining tour, for which tickets are already selling fast.

The album CD also includes an enhanced section that features exclusive ‘behind the scenes’ footage shot in Japan and at 2005’s European festivals, plus a Windows theme package that includes screensavers, mouse icons, wallpaper, etc.

Album tracklisting: Through The Fire And Flames / Revolution Deathsquad / Storming The Burning Fields / Operation Ground And Pound / Body Breakdown / Cry For Eternity / The Flame Of Youth / Trail Of Broken Hearts.

DRAGONFORCE’s UK headline tour runs as follows:

27th Jan – MANCHESTER Academy 2
29th Jan – NOTTINGHAM Rock City
30th Jan – LEEDS Metropolitan University
31st Jan – GLASGOW Carling Academy
1st Feb – NEWCASTLE University
3rd Feb – LONDON Astoria

Tickets are on sale now, priced £12 regionally and £13.50 for London. Pick them up at www.aloud.com

The scene is set for the unleashing of DRAGONFORCE in 2006. They’re already bigger than you think and they’ve not even started yet….

DO NOT buy the album when it comes out. Download it and wait for the inevitable re-release. Fuck RR! I love the 25th anniversary re-releases now when the CDs have been out less than 5 years! Fuck you, RR!!

That cover is fucking terrible indeed.

Shit, I can see all the little kids sitting at home listening to Dragonforce saying "Hey, these guys sound like Avenged Sevenfold!"

I will shit myself if I ever hear that comparison ever.

Dragonforce and Avenged Sevenfold.

On the topic of the cover, it might actually be a good thing if the kids get that, listen to it, then go looking for more and find Maiden.

If this were a Dragonforce album cover would you say that?

Sorry, I've got something stuck in my throat.

It's a torrent.

Yeah and I think the site can get in trouble for having it on these boards. I could be wrong though.

speaking of awful covers. I have heard that the new Edguy cover is awful; along with the darkness new albums cover? yet nobody has mentioned how awful the Inhuman Rampage cover by DragonForce is! That is far worse than the other two album covers (IMO)
Anyone else agree?

It isn't really bad, it's just boring. The new Edguy is frikin horrible.
