"Trinidad" fucking sucks. It could be the worst Edguy song ever.

Um...yes and no, I'd say. It's slow, but it doesn't have the vibe of a ballad, I guess. There's no emotion. You'd just have to hear it. I can't stand it. I can appreciate the band trying something different because it does have a different feel to it—I can't recall any Edguy song that is similar—but it's just not good at all.

I think they at least have to be applauded for evolving. Some bands sound the same forever, especially in power metal. At least Edguy tries different things. These things don't always work, and Tobi's the first one to admit that later when it does happen. I don't see the 80s stuff as being recycled to them only because they're a bit younger for the genre (was Tobi even 10 yet when the Keepers albums came out?), and to them, discovering some older material to bring into their sound likely seems pretty fresh from their POV. Their new producer also convinced them to experiment with the sound by having them all play together to get most of the tracks recorded, so this probably has alot to do with the overall tone of the album as well.

I like many of the songs so far but not as many as on HC. Still, I only listen to about half of Mandrake, and I believe it's rare for albums to be entirely strong throughout anyway. The "Mandyke" cover (as I like to call it) has grown on me too. We'll see whn I actually have the CD in my player and listen to it as I normally listen to music.

There it is. Is "excellent" and "great" the same? If so, change "excellent" to "super-duper." OK, I made this list originally at work after a few listens and I didn't have the album with me. Basically I feel the album has 7 excellent songs, 4 great songs and one song that's total filler.

Let's talk about "Trinidad," it's not a ballad, but a mid-tempo rocker that starts off slow. I've listened to this song so little I was mistaken, I'm not even sure I listened beyond the first chorus until tonight, all I know is that it's not very good, but I can actually see some people liking it. It's a very...bubbly and goofy kind of song, but not funny goofy, cheesy goofy. I don't know, not my thing, I guess. 89/100 for me, a hair shy of a masterpiece.

It can't be compared to Hellfire Club, though, this is essentially a metal-tinged rock album. It's a different beast altogether.

I really don't think Fucking With Fire is good at all. It's probably the most boring song on the album.

No way! That's a killer rock song with a great chorus!

It actually is that bad. Maybe worse. Imagine closing an album with that? FWF being a bonus track and all.

I'm going to be the only one i guess, but i actually enjoy Trinidad. For the type of song it is it's good.
