Did anyone here see "Satan rides the media" (satan rir media) ?
Varg says it's pretty spectacular and also bullshit.

The program was hilarious-my mum was a bit iffy during it-but whatever.

"Slayer made those boys kill my daughter...That death metal music they play is dusgusting...We want it banned for singling out women and promoting rape..."

"The staple diets of the ordinary teenage metalhead are: death, murder rape and necrophilia" WHAT THE FUCK???

But still, entertaining-I didn't like the shots of the hands and tufts of hair poking out of the soil though.

That's when it really hit home: two teenagers went out to the pub and never came home.

A real horror story, I hope the little fucks responsible never see the light of day again.

Haven't been able to read what u all wrote, cause u guys write too much, but i got most of it . . . anyways . . . although it is bullshit it is fucked up

. . . kids missinterpret things and always will, thats how they learn and thats how everyone learns. . . although what they did is fucked up . . . the music might not have caused it but it was probably an inspiration to them to do those acts

...in the same way these kids missinterpret music into stupid actions, anyone can missinterpret anything. . . . so pretty much if the blame the music. . . they can blame the school, the parents, tv, music, games, internet... almost anything can be blamed...

but still the true one cause of the murders are the people who did it.. not how they came about to doing it...

it's always the same... no inside knowledge... take Black Metal for an example... every time it's descriped in the media it's always descriped as evil satanic music that spread messages about killing christians, even though it's only something like 20-30 % of all the bm bands that spread these messages, and even less that's spreading in the music itself (lyrics) etc etc... of course this is based on the norwigian mainstream bands... :? ..
they got it all wrong.. Black metal is not only about killing christians, it's also about worshipping goats, sacrificing nuns to the moon and running around in the forest with wooden swords and magic cards... at least that what's i'm doing every saturday night...

I saw that program and I just had thoughts of Deja vu. its all very well but people assume that if it has anything to do with violence then its probably the cause ( the one and only at that ). They say it about films and computer games as well.
Its all very well but the most famous case of music inciting violence is Charles Manson saying he was "influenced" by the Beatles white album (correct me if I'm wrong). Are they gonna ban that or would they have double standards?

I don't think they'll bother banning music in such a fashion. Too much hassle.

The worst thing is when you get "intellectuals" who have just read somewhere about Varg/Euro etc, and then buy DMDS, just so they can tell their freinds how edgy they are because: "Oooh the bassist killed the guitarist!". Then they all sit around having a good ironic laugh at those crazy metal kids...

I read this story about a year ago in the more reputable source, The New York Times, and the account was much more truthful, without foregone conclusions blaming the music.

True.. Although I also desecrate graves and rape an occasional priest or corpse...

This world is full of feeble-minded idiots.. Some of them kill people because they are trying to live out death metal lyrics (or whatever). Others make TV-shows and think you can blame music for murder :? . There is a multitude of ways to show your ignorance to the world...

Common factor for the above mentioned: They should be shot on sight.
