March Into The Sea > all other pelican IMO... then all other Pelican > practically all other instrumentals

Eh I heard Pelican, it just doesnt speak to me the way Weird Dreams or Beyond the Ice do. Those two songs have the two greatest leads ever played in metal....ever.

Exciter is almost too heavy though to be called Speed Metal. I just call them thrash metal.....but I use it loosely with them.

Dude... nobody ever expects you to like anything but thrash, possibly some hard rock, and NWOBHM. You can just say 'default message' and we can infer precisely what you mean from that, especially when talking about non-thrash bands.

Maybe with the exception of Deff Leppard's Switch 625,which is pretty cool!!

INDEED ! :D

but that is if you consider Rush to be a metal band. I don't...

If I were to include progressive instrumentals to my list, Genesis's Los Endos would be on it !

and, about Def Leppard, I think High'n'Dry is a way too overlooked album which is a shame since it's an awesome heavy rocking album...

I could see how you'd be upset if you knew that I had never even bothered listening to the other stuff....but I have, and for me.....and my musical tastes....it doesnt really go beyond the genres you named....but hey, its all rock n' roll, and I like it.

I consider Led Zep and Queen metal bands;than of course i consider Rush metal.

As for High &Dry,it's the best Def Leppard album i know(i don't know yet Hysteria).

I,also, need some advice from you, dude.Je veux me mettre au progressif;but apart from Marillion and a few Pink Floyd albums(Dark Side,Wish you Were Here),i'm a total ignorant;so,which are the best albums to begin ,for bands like Genesis,Yes,King Crimson,or others?Help me,dude!

Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway & Selling England by the Pound
King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King & Red
Yes - Relayer & Tales from Topographic Oceans
Van der Graaf Generator - World Record
ELP - Brain Salad Surgery
Gentle Giant - The Power and The Glory

al those albums have to be considered classics by any prog-lover... I think that would be a nice place to start from you... expecting feedback on your impressions too :D

I'm not a huge fan of instrumentals, i usually skip them when listening to a cd, but there are a few which are pretty good, which are as follows

Obviously Metallica's Call Of Ktulu and Orion.
I really like Sentenced's Mourn, from their Frozen album
And delving back a bit, i've always liked Sepultura's Kaiowas from their Chaos A.D. album

There are probably a shitload more that i cant think of, those were just off the top of my head.

Liege Lord does a really good one on Burn to My Touch, and there is a really good Satan instrumental on Court in the Act that sounds like the grandfather to all Blind Guardian instrumentals.

Actually,i saw yesterday in a small record store near Nation some albums (Foxtrot,Fragile,Close to the Edge, and Uriah Heep's Salisbury) which tempted me a bit,but i've hesitated(instead,i've bought the last Obituary):maybe i'll get them next time;i hope they're classics too...

I dunno, there just don't seem to be any surprises with you. I could probably predict every post you'd make to any given topic, with a high success rate.

Just sayin.
