I'm turning into an obsessive fangirl of Blind Guardian, they just make me so giddy. I'm new to power metal so they're most all I know but I was wondering...If I like Blind Guardian, who else might I like?
Thanks for the imput in advance!

Also try Manigance, the french band! They don't sound like Blind Guardian at all;they sound more like a better versoin of Sratovarius, but they sing in french!!!They have 2 albums:Ange ou Demon and D'un Autre Sang.Ange ou Demon is quite good;avoid the other one!

On a humorous note .....

Could we count Nanowar (not to be confused with Manowar) as power metal???

 True Metal of Steel

I would suggest you a band I just discovered not so long ago...
"Nightscape". Sounds a bit like Rhapsody in my opinion. They only have one album till now and it's called "Symphony of the Night". Great material. Good quality. Good vocals. Good melodies. Basically, that's great stuff !! You could try it ! :)

Dude, stop. You don't have to speak up every single time there is a band you don't like.

And stop laughing at your own jokes. They're not funny.

Hey Holy Terror, have you heard Chroming Rose?

He may not have heard about them but i sure have. Bloody good stuff that. I recommend them, especially 'Pressure' and 'New World'. May i suggest two other fairly unknown bands?

Morifade - Swedish Power Metal band with lots of keyboard. Nothing original a part from the heavy use of keyboards. Fantastic songwriting, melodies and an amazing vocalist. Pretty light happy sound, though not as happy as Rhapsody for example.

Manticora - Danish Power Metal with strains of... well a bit of everything (thrash, speed, prog etc.). Above average in terms of technicality. Darker atmosphere. A little inacessible as most don't like the vocalist. Really great band though. Album '8 Deadly Sins' was such a masterpiece.

I've heard of Manticore, but I've never heard anything by them. I'll put them on my list of many to check out.

Ignore stub. He's been at this charade scince forever and a half ago. He doesn't realize that some people like Stratovarius and Edguy. If you like Power Metal, I don't see why you shouldn't like Stratovarius or Edguy.

Give them a shot. I'm almost certain that you'll like them,.
