Got a bit tired of listening to MTV-type rock & punk so gone back into the archives for some classic power & true metal. Not got anything by these bands before (odd considering i've got over 700 CD's!). Very impressed. Looking at getting into Hammerfall, Rhapsody & Edguy. Any recommendations guys?

Go back to MTV rock and punk!Stay away from Hammerfall ,Rhapsody and Edguy(and Stratovarius)!!!!!Unless you're some retarded adolescent;don't waste your time and money!!

Don't listen to him. He thinks his taste exceeds all. Those are all great bands.

Haha! ICP is a very progressive rap group! Hahahaha. Oxymoron? Moron? I like about 4 rap groups, those are two of them. Have you ever heard ICP? They're hilarious! Pure comedy. =)

To bad they are not funny. I didn't event think they were funny when I was in high school.

And the Kottenmouth Kings?! I guess I can't talk there. When I was a junior in high school, there was this chick, oh god was she hot. Anyway, she was obsessed with them and they were coming to town. So I'm like, yeah sure I'll go. Man that show was the lamest thing I had ever seen. I'd like to say it was worth it b/c I got some action later one, but absolutely nothing happened with me and that chick. She played me like frikin record. One of my sadder moments of high school.

I've always thought ICP were hilarious. I still do, but my sense of humor is extremely childish! My friends say that if I were a sitcom I'd be Seinfeld! :D

As for the Kottonmouth Kings, I just like them because they're different. Usually when white people rap, you get something different. Daddy X was in the punk band Humble Gods previous to forming Kottonmouth Kings and I love Humble Gods, and I like how he mixes the punk with rap. It's definitely different, but I would NEVER, NEVER, NEVER go and see them live. The crowd would make me want to commit suicide.

Superheroes is EXCELLENT! Great, great CD. "Judas At The Opera" will make you "sploik."

Just got back from seeing...*gasp*...311 in Portland, ME. And I can find music anywhere, so this is what I picked up:

Alien Ant Farm - Greatest Hits
Alien Ant Farm - Blue
Zero Hour - A Fragile Mind
Rage - 10 Years Of Rage: The Anniversary Album
Orphaned Land - The Beloved's Cry

First off, I know it's not all metal. Whatever. =) Second, Alien Ant Farm kick ass, the bass player is AMAZING, but he's a fucking spazz on stage, I want to punch him. Since I'm friends with 311 I got to hang out with the singer and the drummer of Alien Ant Farm, very, very cool guys. They're bootlegging their new CD, Blue (doesn't have a name, but it's blue, so...). Geffen dropped them before releasing this CD, and Geffen won't give them their music. Fucking labels suck.

The Orphaned Land CD cost me $4.99!! It was brand new! I got it at Newbury Comics, it looked like they found it behind a wall in the back room or something, but $4.99?!?! Awesome! Great band.

True story.
