Good riff here and there but nothing realy ground breaking. It actually tries to make you bolieve its special but its not. Although they succeded in setting up an ok sound but still that little something that makes wonders is missing.

New Graveland is better.

I was just reading a bit about this band because of this thread. I'd heard of them, but not listened to them. I'm going to have to check them out soon - probably "Sary Oy"... Best release?

I haven't heard the new one but Sary Oy is pretty good and very atmospheric. Is the new one equally good?

Both albums can't be more different from each other....music wice and sound wice as well. Like 2 diff bands. New one is more traditional BM more simillar to their EP.

Yet still it contains some of those beautiful folk parts with awesome tunes like on that Jasil Oy song. On Akyr Zaman for example. Too bad they didn't use more of that, as Thy Catafalque does. But I was also quite disappointed they dropped the major element that made them stand out from the crowd, interesting and gave them identity.

And the new Graveland is simply kick ass!

Well. I won't place it on top of my 'to buy' list then.

I managed to listen to "Sary Oy" last night, and I liked it a bit. Not great, imo, but pretty good. I don't know if I will get around to checking out the new one though if it isn't as good...

The band name almost sounds like a silly Dutch name.
