A friend sent me this album, and it sounded boring as fuck. Actually, I turned it off after the first half. I have listened to it one time now...maybe I should give it another chance but after the first spin I give it around 55-60/100.

I can't argue much about that one. It's not as much boring as in "in an annoying kinda way", more like "in an forgetable kinda of way". It's the kinda of album you leave playing in the background and never stop whatever you were doing to think: man that was a nice piece.

At any rate, I agree with your quote of 55-60; that puts it in the upper half of Medium, lower half of Fair, which is exactly where this album belongs.

I think Ben's right in his review about the tempo being kinda constant throughout the entire album. Varying it a little bit would probably given it much more of a personality....

All things consider, it's not a bad album, but it's probably gonna get lost into the stream of good albums released around this time of the year.

Agreed 101%. I couldn't have said it better.

I had a chance to listen to some of the sound samples and I'm not too impressed.Nothing really grabbing you and making you want to buy the album.

It's not great, but it's not bad for a debut. I think the key here is going to be getting a permanent band together. It just seems like Yan through a bunch of people together and it didn't mesh like a true band project should. There are three bona fide great songs on this album, so I figure there's plenty of potential here. I'm in agreement with most of Ben's thoughts.
