you can debate wether Dani's vocals are nice to listen to, but it's crystal clear that he can produce inhumane sounds that very few vocalist are capable of, if they don't want to fvkk up their troaths for a month of so. Therefore, he's like someone doing extremely hard stuff with his guitar: Maybe it's not great to listen to, but someone who can do this is a good guitar player. At least not a bad one.

I would like Cradle of filth if he didn't do his high screaches, those piss me off.

yes, me too, but that does not mean he's a bad vocalist. Personally, I can't really listen to technical fuckfests like meshuggah or whatever, though that doesn't mean they are bad guitarists...

His scream/growl is actually pretty good. His clean vocals, however, are terrible. Very very terrible.

Steve Zetro Souza honestly beats out Paul Baloff for me.

Cans I think is very good, Hetfield is good too even though I hate Metallica.

I'm sorry, but you sir do not know shit about vocals.

Firstly, I AM a vocalist, and second, I have seen Between The Buried and Me live. He is freaking awesome.

The deep growl he does is not easy. It's much harder than screaming and most growling. Hitting that low is hard. Pushing it as much as he does, and still holding it is even more impressive. The higher scream is also very good and well controlled. He is better than 90% of screamers/growlers out there. And having seen them live, I can assure you he hits every note perfectly. The band itself is perfect live.

His singing is not phenomenal, but it is not bad either. It's better than most clear vocals I hear in metal or hardcore. It is really good on Mordecai however. And he also pulls off his clean vocals live without any variation.

I fully agree, but I hope you're not dissing our fellow poser friend Holy_terror? He'll drag you through the mud for this.

Baloff has become some kinda myth of course, but Souza sounds a hell of a lot meaner and angrier, if you know what I mean.

Mark Osgueda at one?

In my opinion he's the one that is ruining Death Angel's music. After all those years he still sounds like an immature youngster of 14 years old. I really can't take him serious. I remember when I bought Act III many years ago, because it really got great reviews and that I was completely put off by his vocals.

But then again, it's all about personal taste.

I've been told Dani FIlth uses some kind of filter on his real ultra-high screams. Not sure if that's true or not.

Finally, it's been awhile since I've seen you start an arguement with that.

A guitarist can better understand the technicality and skill level of a riff or solo. A good drummer knows that odd time signatures are much more impressive than double kicks. A vocalist can also dictate skill, control, range, etc with vocals. I said it for the sake of my argument.

Yeah yeah yeah. Unfortunetly, singing is less about singing talent and more about personal opinion on the basic sound of the voice and vocal style. In my opinion, unless the person keeps fucking up with their voice(Anders Freiden live) then it's all just personal opinion weither a vocalist is good or bad.

Buddy, I don't like his vocals. They suck. I don't need to give a reason for it. It's personal taste.

I really don't care how technically accomplished his voice is if it sounds like shit to me.

So fuck off, and stop being such an arrogant jerk. When it comes to the issue of your being a vocalist and thus better able to judge the vocals, so what? I know what sounds good to me, and that doesn't sound good to me.

Therefore, to me, he's shit.

EDIT- One thing I forgot to mention...

If you're going to insult my taste in something, don't say "I'm sorry, but..." before. It's fucking stupid and not funny and doesn't make it any more polite.



I love that guy's vocals. He can hit monstrously high notes. Reminds me of Halford.

And yes, it is about personal taste, something Jaden fails to realize.

I love Osgueda, not only does he have a good range, but he can go between various styles of vocals better than a great deal of singers. But like was said, it's about personal taste.
