BTBAM rocks! Everytime I listen to that album I like it better and better. It's a band I don't want to like (dunno why...) but I do.

You can not debate this because: :) :) ...
1. Top notch musicianship
2. Nice song structure
3. Unique
3. Excellent vocals
4. 'Love the melodic rhythm of the death vocal lines

you could listen to BTBAM or you could cut some T.O.O.H. and Martyr songs up into three second segments and glue them back together with emo

yea...went to concert recently where they were there...i already had a pretty neg opinion about them, but the live show furthered my assumptions...boring band. one dude was sitting on stage, the singer was the only one moving around...besides the fact that it was kind of bad music...

It's alright. It doesn't absolutely suck but the songs are just more of the same to me.

All I know is that they are a lot of fun to listen to. It's definately a love or hate 'em type band...but so is the whole style of metal.

fair enough...

The group draws me in because of a few things. I really like the rhythm of the death vocals. To me, the rhythm of the death vocals is catchy almost the way a well crafted melody is catchy and sticks with you. The interesting thing is whats going on under the vocal rhythms. I think people who ignore the vocals in death metal would find BTBAM to be too "shifty." But it's not really. The vocal rhythms holds the tune together while the instrumental stuff underneath adds the variation.

I like the guitar and drum work. I don't like to hear too much "I can play fast and in 7/8 to HAAAAAAA!!!" But BTBAM is more about setting up a good groove. Groove is a much more difficult thing to do than wankery.

I have a small classical collection and a BTBAM song reminds me of a Symphony involving many movements and call and response type phrases.

I recently bought the Hypocricy album and each song has a specific feel and that feel stays consistant throughout the tune. There is something to be said for that kind of writting because you can really get into the tune. I really love Virus. However, BTBAM is a great alternative when you have extra time and your in the mood for something thicker.

Let deathkvlt review it. If you do, I'll point out why your review is bad.

Indeed.

Oh, and they they did a great job of TOTALLY RIPPING OFF DECAPITATED with the opening riff to Backwards Marathon. It's the riff from Spheres of Madness, like a minute or so in. I forget the exact time.

Also, lizardtail's comment was pretty spot on.
