Hahaha! I had a rap phase, too, in junior high! This was back when Run DMC were popular, they and Def Leppard were my favorite groups! I even did some rapping, I went by the name of DEVASTATA K. Hahaha.

I went through a pop phase then a glam and heavy metal phase, went a long time without listening to music before I got back into metal again.

Did you lose your taste for that music? See, a lot of people seem to go through phases and then simply never listen to that music again. They say they don't like it.

It's weird, and hard for me to understand because I can still throw on Paid In Full by Eric B. & Rakim and fucking love it! Once I like it, I'll always like it. My rap phase did hit a brick wall at some point and I haven't liked many rap groups since the early 90's, but I can still toss on Funkdoobiest and seriously dig on it.

As far as pop I don't listen to much maybe Tears For Fears that's about it.The old school metal I still listen too at least some bands like Whitesnake,Def Leppard, etc.

Outside of metal right now I listen to classical, classic rock,Celien Dion,Enya and I'm now getting into Gregorian Chants(wanted to broaden my music taste).

Def Leppard! Greatest band in the world! I forgive them for releasing X, that album sucked it hard.

X was a crapfest much like Slang was at least that's how I feel.

Of course their best stuff IMHO was everything from On Through The Night to Pyromania with Hysteria and Adrenalize being close second.

Didn't care for Euphoria too much but it was better then Slang and X though.

Well, my first CD ever was Hysteria, so I hold that in high regard! I actually really enjoy Slang, it was very different at the time, but I've grown to appreciate what they did with that album and I think it's a great CD. Euphoria was excellent. I could have lived without songs like "All Night" and "21st Century Sha La La La Girl" (or whatever the fuck it's called), but I do still like those tunes. Songs like "Paper Sun," "Day After Day" and "Kings Of Oblivion" all have elements from their first three albums! Even the bonus track, "I Am Your Child," seems like a song right out of the Def Leppard vaults. The CD was a great return to form in my eyes.

I was utterly disappointed with X. It was so polished, the outside songwriters just sucked—Lionel Richie also recorded a version of "Long, Long Way To Go" for fuck's sake!—the signature choruses sounded like chicks, there was no low end, it was just terrible. "Now" is an decent song and "Scar" is the only song I truly like except for the girl-like chorus sound. I have no faith in this band now, once outside songwriters are involved—songwriters who've penned Britney Spears and NSync songs!—I just can't imagine the band ever coming close to what they once were. You only have to look as far as Aerosmith to understand that.

Yeah I hear you on X I don't want NSync crap in my bands save that shit for pop artists not bands like DL.

As far as Slang it just didn't sound good to me.Like I said countless times I don't mind a band changing their sound so as long as it sounds good but Slang didn't sound good to me but if you like it then I'm glad it gets some attention.

I just hope their new CD is a lot better if they ever start writing for it don't even know if they started on it yet but knowing DL they will probably take 4 years to make it lol which is why I call them the 4 year band

And believe it or not Hysteria was my first DL album too then I got their earlier stuff,ONTN,High N' Dry and Pyromania and really like it.It was a lot heavier and edgier then Hysteria which I really like in a band so that is why I put their pre Hysteria stuff in high regards.

Def Leppard can still write the good shit. A lot of their unreleased songs from album sessions are excellent, and heavy! They just never make the albums.

And I expect a 5 year wait between albums! Hahaha. Have you heard about Man-Raze? Retarded name, but it's Phil's new side project and the clips seem good, looks like he's pulling out some heavier riffs.

Did you ever hear Pete Willis's post DL band, Roadhouse? They're really good, worth checking out. Really hard to find, though. Took me 15 years! Hahaha.

Hansi (Blind Guardian) - Punishment Divine

Daniel Heiman (Lost Horizon) - Sworn In The Metal Wind

Toumos (Nightwish) - The Carpenter (ahahah, kidding)

Tony Taylor (Twisted Tower Dire) - At Night

Thats all I can think of off the top of my head right now.

Sabbat - Dracula

Never quite heard a chorus like this, but it's REALLY infectious. Cool that the whole band kinda sings different parts at once.
