Just wondering if any of you guys have heard of the English band Akercocke.
I've been browsing the site and there's not even a mention of them anywhere, despite the fact that their 'Choronzon' album became Terrorizor's album of the year.
Obviously that's no reason alone to check them out, but 'Choronzon' and their latest album 'Words that go unspoken, deeds that go undone' are both insane combinations of death, black, dark, atmospheric soundscapes and practically everything else in between.
I suppose the best way to describe them is as extreme prog.

Saw a video of theirs last night. That was the first time I heard them, though I'd been meaning to for awhile. I thought the song was damn good, plus there was some hot chick in the video caressing herself to boot! I wish I could remember the name of the song.

Akercocke is excellent! Great hybrid of Black and Death Metal! Chronzon gets heavy rotation in my CD player. Some of the best riffwork ever IMHO. some people don't like because of the whole "tr00 Balck Metalers wouldn't wear suits, they are not kvlt" which is retarded. I not sure why they're not more popular than they are, in the States they are on Earache and are usually on the shelf at the shops. The episode of Uranium they were on was hilarious, Julya looked frightened when Jason told her they really are Satan worsippers and not just using the image to sell records. Stupid posuer whore!

That would be Leviathan off of Chronzon. Great song and video. The unedited version shows everything you want to see of that chick as well!

Haha! Yes, that was the episode I saw, pretty damned hilarious indeed. Do you know what song and/or album the video was from?

Also, Juliya should definitely think about sewing her mouth shut and introducing the videos naked. I need more of her poser ramblings like I need to be kicked in the nards with steel toe boots.

Yeah they're easily the best band in the UK at the moment (except maiden - but who's going to be better than them?), which is why I'm suprised there's no review of any of their albums.

Have you heard the latest album anyone?

Is the unedited video included on the CD?

I don't get them at all.

I saw it on the net(don't remeber where though :oops: )as my PC is far too shitty too handle Enhanced CD's. I don't believe so though, but I don't have it in front of me so......

Otherwise there's very little point in that comment. Especially if you haven't heard a lot - in which case maybe you should listen to more in order to formulate something interesting to say...

Agreed! I've actually no idea what it means, and if I could be arsed I'd find out.
Probably a reference to some obscure demonic entity from an old scroll or some bollocks like that.

It's just that modern British bands are generally shit, so when a good one comes along they should deserve some more coverage
